They say Gen X women are rude.

No. 

We just don’t give a f$#% what other people think about us anymore.

Big difference.

What you’re calling rude is the absence of performance. 

We’re not running emotional repair jobs. 

We’re not softening our words so others feel comfortable. 

We’re not auditioning for approval or managing how we’re perceived.

That chapter is closed.

Gen X women spent decades being polite, agreeable, accommodating, and quiet when it mattered most. 

We showed up. 

We carried families, careers, friendships, and entire systems on our backs. And at some point, we stopped explaining ourselves.

Not because we’re bitter.

Because we’re done pretending.

We know our values.
We know our price.
And we never settle for less than that.
We don’t owe likability. 

We don’t owe access. We don’t owe emotional labor to strangers who confuse boundaries with attitude.

If you’ve had a bad experience with someone older, that sucks. 

That’s an individual. 
Not a demographic study.
And this part matters.

Women are supposed to lift each other up. 

All ages.

Tearing women down because of a few bad interactions is a choice. And it’s never a good look.

Gen X women aren’t rude.

We’re unbothered.

And we’re not here to be liked.
