I’m a two-time founder and award-winning design director with a proven track record of leading teams to successfully bring over 50 innovative physical and digital products to market.

With 20+ years of experience across startups, consultancies, and corporate settings, I’ve developed a holistic approach that combines creative design thinking, operational and manufacturing expertise, and emotional intelligence to drive innovation and team success.

Today, I serve as Director of Products at Grizzly Industrial, where I lead three brands: Grizzly, Shop Fox, and South Bend, overseeing product strategy, design, merchandising, pricing, logistics, and development.

In parallel, I continue to coach a select group of founders and leaders, placing emotional intelligence at the core of my work to empower better decision-making, stronger collaboration, and sustainable growth.

Originally from Argentina 🇦🇷 and now based in Bellingham, WA, I enjoy life as a dad, exploring the outdoors, and restoring old motorcycles 🛵 🏍️.

Career Highlights include:

 ➜ Earned 35 patents for innovative product designs.
 ➜ Exhibited twice at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), with one design in its permanent collection.
 ➜ Created products that won more than 75 major design awards.
 ➜ Founded and built a design consultancy serving global brands such as Crate & Barrel, CB2, Club Quarters Hotels, and Herman Miller.
 ➜ Established overseas manufacturing operations for multiple clients.

Al is the owner/co-founder of Pursuit Athletic Performance, LLC, and has been coaching endurance athletes from all walks of life and ability levels since 1999. He's also a retired member of the U.S. Coast Guard Band and presently a percussionist and librarian for the Venice Symphony, in Venice. 

Pursuit Athletic Performance is an internationally recognized gait analysis laboratory and coaching company for athletes from all sports. Coach Al opened "PAP" along with sports physician, Dr. Kurt Strecker, in 2010 in Old Saybrook, CT. The "brick and mortar" analysis lab moved to Chester, CT in 2015, and subsequently evolved into an online-only analysis system in 2016.  

"Team Pursuit" athletes of every age and ability level from around the globe continue to compete successfully at various race distances in swimming, running, and multisport, doing it all with a "movement quality first" approach to training. Among the many athletes Coach Al has helped reach their ultimate potential is 5-time Age Group Ironman World Champion and 40-44 age-group course record holder, Lisbeth Kenyon. 

Current Certifications: USA Triathlon, Fascial Stretch Therapist with Stretch To Win, Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist, National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), Dragon Door (HKC), Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research (Fitness Specialist), Functional Movement Screen provider (FMS), Barefoot Training Specialist (Evidenced Based Fitness Academy). He is also certified in clinical gait analysis by Medical Motion, a subsidiary of Sports Motion, Inc.

As an athlete, Coach Al is a multi-time marathon finisher with a personal best of 2:39:37 at the Boston Marathon, and a nine-time Ironman Triathlon finisher, including three finishes at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

I’m 64. Since my mid-20s, I’ve wanted to live disease, doctor, and drug free, to give myself the best chance to die healthy at a ripe old age of around 120! 

It might sound like a pipedream, but I'm telling you, I’ve spent my entire life thinking about and researching what it would take to make it happen and then living every day to give myself the best chance. 

Now I’m helping others – the young and not-so-young - to also have their shot at a life free of chronic disease and dysfunction. 

Imagine being there for your great-grandkids and racing them around the yard!  Or imagine being able to travel the world and hike into your 100s, with no limits to what you want to do or where you want to go. We ALL have our own WHY.  For me, and I hope for you, the idea of being able to create those kinds of memories just fires me up.
