it drives me crazy when marketers still say:

- SEO is dead because of ChatGPT
or
- AI search is just a trend
- We'll worry about LLMs later 🫠 

I have spent 4 years in SEO, and this niche has changed a LOT.
a. But it's not dead
b. AI is here to stay

(can't imagine how much SEO changed for those seniors who have been in this sector for +15 years)

Here's what I mean:

- Traditional search still drives revenue. But AI search is already influencing what your potential clients buy. The trend will only speed up.

- By 2028, LLM-generated traffic will surpass traditional search engine traffic. You need to get ready for the switch. 

- Going multi-channel is no longer an option: Reddit, SEO, YouTube, LinkedIn.
They all matter now. 

If your brand isn't showing up in those AI answers, your business will feel the revenue difference pretty soon. 

How can you react? 

- Start tracking AI answers and brand citations. I use Rankshift to track this.

It captures AI responses directly from the UI, not API outputs. 

That means you get the real answer your prospects are actually seeing.

It lets me monitor prompts across all major LLMs and shows:

- Which AI queries cite your brand
- Where competitors appear instead of you

How to win AI Search in 2026

"Is SEO dead?" is the wrong question.
Better question: 

"Do you understand that Google and ChatGPT are completely different marketing channels?"

Because they are. But they're still complementary. 

Google/Bing = Traditional search
ChatGPT/Claude/Perplexity = Conversational AI

People have different behaviors. 
Thus, your business needs different strategies.

Saying "SEO is dead" because of AI is like saying "TV is dead" because of streaming.

It didn't die, but the way people consume content changed.

You now have two channels to master, not one.

Who are the winners?

Those who are optimizing for traditional search engines AND AI tools.

How? 

By investing in: 

- SEO 
- Reddit
- YouTube
- LinkedIn 

You should start on one. But then you must expand on all of them.

Keep posting on LinkedIn for as long as your mental health allows.

That's my advice for those just starting on the platform. 

Pick one niche and stick to it for at least a year. 

Everyone's creating content now.

But how many people would be willing to do that for 12, 18, or even 36 months? 

Not many, that's for sure. 

Despite having far more followers, my carousels used to get far more views than they do now.

Does that mean LinkedIn is dead? What a nonsensical statement.

In fact, I've never booked as many meetings as I have over the last 8 weeks.

Why is that? 

Because visibility has been building up for three years. 

People have discovered me, seen me regularly, and asked to work with me. 

Others discovered me and also decided to work with me. 

The main reason? Consistency combined with "good enough" content. 

So, what's blocking you from posting?

3 years ago, I was afraid to post on LinkedIn. 
Here's why it was SO silly:  

1. Two weeks in, and you realize people don't care as much as you thought.

You will start complaining about low impressions. 

You will likely fall into the "LinkedIn is dead" rhetoric. 

Spoiler: People are not sitting there dissecting your typos.

They're scrolling. 

Do you convince them? They visit your profile.

Do you convince them 3 times? You start gaining authority. 

Until then, they will forget you after 8.5 seconds.

2. Imagine yourself two years from today.

Imagine you've been posting consistently x3/week. 

This is what you can get: 

- Better job: This is what happened to me.
- More clients: This is what happened to me, too. 

Trust me: 

Building a personal brand changes lives. It changed mine. 

But you need to start today, not in a few weeks.

For years, I focused on the wrong metric on LinkedIn. 

For 30 of 36 months, I focused on a single metric: Impressions. 

- Did my post get at least 5k impressions? It's a good one.
- Did my post do "only" 1k? It's not a good one. 
- Did my post get 500 impressions? Never again.

Then LinkedIn introduced a new metric: Saves.

(But I also started reading more of Richard Moore's posts.)

These 2 things combined changed my mindset. 

Here are the most critical metrics to me now: 

1. Profile viewers: If a person visited my profile, that's a clear sign that they're curious about what I'm doing. Connect with those people if they're your ideal profile.

2. Saves: If people saved that, it's clear they don't want to miss that content. Hence, I need to double down on that.

3. Engagement: If people took the time to click that like, it's a reinforcing signal that they resonate with that content. 

Impressions are important, but LinkedIn changed its algorithm in 2025, making impressions harder to get. 

Focus on Saves, and you will find a better compass for your growth.
