For the last 2.5 years, I led growth at Arrows, a customer onboarding SaaS product for teams using HubSpot. I joined as the first marketer and helped Arrows grow to more than 7 figures in ARR.

I’m a dad to 2 boys - struggling competitive golfer - and lover of cooking (or grilling).

Honestly, this period sucks for most agency founders.
Cash flow feels tight.
Revenue is patchy.
Nerves are high.

The good news?
It’s fixable & 
You’re not the only one going through it.

November through February is consistently the toughest stretch for agencies.
Clients pause. Budgets reset. 
Half of Australia is still on holiday.
You basically have March to October to make your money.

1. Go heavy on agency partnerships

Most agencies overlook this.

The ones that don’t? 
Their pipeline stays full - and they can choose which deals they want to work on.

2. Run Meta ads properly - build trust, not desperation

Meta is the fastest way to get in front of thousands of your ideal clients overnight.
But this is not about instant conversions. It’s about trust and familiarity.

Run 4 types of ads:
* A case study ad
* A testimonial ad
* A founder-led VSL ad

Your VSL should be simple and outcome-driven.
“I helped this eCommerce brand go from 50k per month to 1m per month in 6 months…”

Then walk through:
* Their pain
* What wasn’t working
* What you changed
* The outcome
 Do this & it’ll attract more ICPs (less time-wasters)

3. Headhunt consistently

Don’t wait until you close deals to start hiring.

When March hits and revenue comes in:
* If you don’t have capacity, delivery suffers
* Delivery suffers, churn increases
* You’re back in survival mode

Be constantly looking for quality onshore talent. Layer strong offshore support around them.
Build bench strength before you need it.

This period is tough. That’s normal.

It’s what you do to come out of it stronger than ever.  The best agencies out there?

They plan for this in advance.
They’re consistent with the above.

And keep scaling, no matter what happens.

4/ Fix your sales engine
