Years ago, I made a mistake 
that still shapes how I lead today.

We were deep into a project with a large PR client.
 
Pressure was high, and everyone was pushing to show their value.

Midway through, someone on my team misread a part of the brief.
 
It meant redoing a big piece of the work.

I didn’t explode or blame anyone.
 
But I pulled back. Kept my distance instead of stepping in.

A few days later, that same person stayed after hours to help another teammate with something they weren’t even responsible for.

Nobody asked them to. 

They just cared about the outcome.

That moment shifted something in me.

It showed me that leadership isn’t about control or micromanagement.
 
It’s about presence.

Helped envision and create the audience journey for SuperReal, an immersive experience by Moment Factory which explores our digital dreams. TWF was engaged to develop the audience journey of SuperReal. We created interactive installations, scenic elements, and consulted on creative direction to prime and pull the audience into the experience--making it rich and complete. To begin, we softened the audience by contrasting the chaotic NYC streets with a welcoming lobby with tropical plants, bird sounds, and playful Spun Chairs. A large reflective SuperReal sign invites the audience to push into the experience. A tactile interactive installation of suspended tubes and sparkling lights subtly engages the audience, inviting them to relax, play, and have fun. An alcove filled with an infinity of lasers offers a moment of wonder. Entering the main hall, your eye is drawn to projections on the 40’ walls but you must first find your way through a dark curved maze which creates mystery, anticipation, and intrigue. By the time you discover the main event (mirrored floor reflecting 3d video) you are already buzzing, primed to love whatever comes next. SuperReal overjoyed thousands with many more to come.

In 2016, Metric commissioned Windmill Factory to design the most significant tour of their career. Jon Morris teamed up with Josh Higgasson to design an upscalable tour from 2 light pyramids in US theaters to 3 light pyramids in Canadian Arenas. Featuring 60 Ayrton Intellipix, low fog, animal masks, DMX controlled LED shades, UV superhero cape. The show was praised for its continuous surprises, precise lighting design, and dynamic flow. The final show in Vancouver, BC was recorded by 26 cameras, finished in 4K with audio mixed by multi-Grammy winner David Bottrill to create the feature film Dreams So Real. The film features fan favorites across five albums including indelible hits “Breathing Underwater”, “Gold Guns Girls” and “Help I’m Alive” and has been screened in movie theaters around the world. The tour was acclaimed as a favorite concert experience by Spin, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and many others.
