-Responsible for assisting the Operations Officer with the development of the training plan for the battalion and its subordinate units.
-Supervised the creation of the Tactical Small Unit Leader’s Course letter of instruction, training plan, curriculum, instructor cadre, and logistics plan. TSULC was a month-long training exercise focused on developing the leadership and tactical abilities of young Marines in order to prepare them for future billets with increased responsibilities.

Assistant Operations Officer

-Led, trained, and supervised between 15-20 Marines in the Training Section at the Advisor Training Cell; counseled and mentored all subordinates in order to develop them into better instructors and Marines. 
-My section was responsible for training Security Force Assistance Advisor Teams preparing to deploy to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; training included “hard” skills (infantry tactics, techniques, and procedures) and “soft” skills (advising foreign forces).
-Personally taught advising skills to over 750 Marines and Sailors; classes included topics such as Influencing Human Behavior, Negotiations, and Mediation.
-Continually revised and improved the training curriculum in order to provide student advisor teams with the most up-to-date and realistic training prior to their deployment.

-Responsible for the training and combat efficiency of an autonomous four-man team tasked with the mission of advising Afghan National Security Force personnel.
-Served as liaison between my advisor team and the officer-in-charge while in pre-deployment training and on deployment.

Afghan Company Advisor (Officer-in-Charge)

-Responsible for the moral, mental, and physical welfare of between 30-50 Marines and Sailors, and the successful training and preparation of my platoon for infantry combat operations. 
-In addition to leading a platoon in a field environment, successfully completed administrative duties including: mentoring and counseling my Marines and Sailors, submitting detailed award recommendations, carrying out serialized inventories of the company’s and battalion’s weapons and optics, and completing legal investigations and submitting reports.
-Responsible for approximately $1 million worth of serialized weapons, gear, and equipment at all times.  
-Mission accomplishment was always the number one priority.

Infantry Platoon Commander

-Three-month course focused on developing Marine officers into infantry rifle platoon commanders.
-Training centered heavily on leadership, initiative, adaptability, and endurance in high-stress situations.

-Six-month course training newly commissioned Marine Corps officers in the basics of leadership and tactics.
