Great insight, Philipp.
Transforming Weibull and other reliability models into continuously learning systems through AI simulation is where asset management becomes truly prescriptive. It’s exciting to see this thinking gain momentum across the SAP ecosystem.

Yesterday I shared my first impressions on sessions about Predictive Maintenance, RCM, Asset Maintenance 5.0, and deep dives into data acquisition and diagnostic hardware at the Asset Performance conference. Today, I want to share one idea that really stuck with me—something that could be transformational if applied across the entire asset lifecycle:

Weibull distribution.
It’s a statistical tool that uses failure data from operations—data that’s often easy to get. It doesn’t need huge datasets, and because it’s based on probability distributions, it provides interpretable confidence intervals. That means maintenance experts can use it with confidence.
Of course, it comes with challenges: modeling expertise and thorough data cleansing are essential.

But the opportunities are huge. Startup Cosmo Tech showed a very innovative approach how operational data (e.g. failures, financials, risk) can be used to simulate different maintenance policies and predict their impact on CAPEX, OPEX, or any custom risk KPI you define is relevant for your business. This enables to test strategies before implementing them—using models they can actually understand.

My takeaway: Weibull distribution shouldn’t be a one-time tool for investment decisions. It should be part of a continuous loop:
- Define strategies based on simulations
- Implement and measure performance of such strategies
- Learn from cases where the policies been violates or fails, e.g. when using CBM or RUL predictions missed a failure beyond what is to be expected from a statistical model.

With continuous closed loops to monitor, improve, and optimize your maintenance strategies and operations, it would be possible to unleash the full power of Weibull distribution—or, as a matter of fact, any AI or model-based tool.

As someone who’s built and audited hundreds of scorecards, here’s what I’ve learnt:

A Balanced Scorecard isn’t about balance. It’s about coherence.

Every number should tell the same story- of growth that’s intentional, integrated, and human.

So before your next review meeting, ask this simple question:

Are we measuring what truly matters or just what’s easy to count?

Some changes in our country feel operational.

And then there are changes that touch something far more human.

When I read the notification on the Four Labour Codes going live,
my mind didn’t go to policies, compliance, or checklists.

It went to the women I’ve met across 25 years-

Women in factories, retail floors, plantations, warehouses, corporate corridors-
women who built their careers quietly, often invisibly,
and yet spent years navigating systems that were never designed for them.

I have seen women hide their pregnancy to avoid losing wages.

I’ve seen night-shift aspirants told, “It’s not safe for you.”

I’ve seen contract women workers hesitate to take sick leave
because there was no paper, no structure, no protection backing their voice.

These stories don’t leave you.

They shape what you ask of leadership.

That’s why this reform feels different.

For the first time, the law acknowledges realities women have carried alone for decades:

1/. Equal pay that isn’t left to interpretation.
2/. Safe, structured night-shift opportunities.
3/. Expanded family definitions that reflect real lives.
4/. Health checks that safeguard long-term wellbeing.
5/. Mandatory appointment letters that protect the dignity.
6/. Social security that includes gig, contract, and platform women workers.

It’s not merely legal progress.

It’s emotional relief for millions of women who have worked twice as hard
to be seen, heard, and protected.

And as a woman entrepreneur, it hits differently.

I know what it feels like to build a business while carrying responsibility on your shoulders,
to create teams while ensuring they feel safe, 
to lead with strength while fighting bias with grace.

This reform gives women across sectors something we’ve fought for silently: A structure that respects our work without questioning our capability.

It gives daughters of factory workers the confidence to dream bigger.

It gives women in hazardous industries a shield they have always deserved.

It gives young professionals clarity, safety, and legitimacy.

It gives mothers returning to work a fairer landscape.

And it gives every organisation a chance to grow with integrity.

But the law is only the first step.

Real change won’t come from the notification.

It will come from how leaders honour its intent.

Paper creates structure.
People create culture.

So here’s the question I leave you with:

As a leader, what will you do to ensure that this reform becomes a lived reality for the women who trust you with their careers?

I’ve heard this from too many founders.

The problem isn’t commitment.

It’s cascading.

The strategy is clear at the top.

But by the time it reaches teams,
it’s a list of activities: not outcomes.

That’s how vision loses velocity.

People start doing,
but stop connecting.

And when the connection breaks,
so does ownership.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀:

1/. Leaders align on business goals.
2/. Managers rewrite them as tasks.
3/. Teams execute without context.

Everyone’s busy.

Few are moving the company forward.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆:

→ Every function knows its lever.
→ Every team knows its impact.
→ Every role knows its “why.”

That’s how direction turns into momentum.

🟣 Do managers translate goals or just track them?
🟣 Do my teams understand why their work matters?
🟣 Does HR enable alignment or only measure output?
🟣 If I walked the floor today, would everyone know what “winning” looks like?
