I love small group facilitation.

When leaders from different sectors lean in.
When someone shares a real example instead of a polished talking point.

When you can almost feel ideas building on top of each other in real time.

Small groups have a different rhythm.

They’re more intimate.

It’s less about presenting and more about listening.
Less about being right and more about learning.

Facilitating those spaces is about holding the structure lightly.
Watching the clock so no one has to.
Making sure every voice has room.
Asking the question that helps the group go one layer deeper.

There’s something powerful about creating a space where people are willing to share what they’re seeing, what they’re struggling with, and what they’re trying.

I’ve been pretty heads down this week.

Working through deliverables for clients.

It’s that deep focus work that I really love.
No noise. No rushing between things. Just time to think, map ideas out, and work through challenges properly.

There’s something really freeing about that kind of space. It’s also where the most exciting ideas tend to show up.

Not every week is like this. But when it is, I’m always reminded how much I enjoy the craft of the work itself.

There is a moment in almost every skill where things start to feel easier.

Not because the work became simple.

Because you have done it enough times that your brain recognizes the patterns. 

You see what matters faster. You know where to focus.

That moment happened to me this week.

I was reviewing an application for someone and preparing feedback. As I worked through it, the adjustments that were needed felt obvious. The gaps. 

The places where the story could be clearer. The pieces that needed to connect.

The suggestions just rolled off the tongue.

It reminded me how much practice sits behind moments like that.

Years of reading applications. Writing them. Seeing what works. Seeing what does not.

Practice is what creates that shift.

The more time you spend learning the fundamentals, the more room you have later to experiment, adapt, and think creatively.

It applies to almost everything. Leadership. Strategy. Writing. Problem solving.

The early reps may feel repetitive.

They are also what make the interesting work possible later.

Each year in February, tens of thousands of Canadians step outside the warmth and comfort of home to shine a light of welcome and compassion in their communities. Since 2011, the Coldest Night of the Year has raised over $75,000,000 across Canada in 190 Canadian communities – 100% of net proceeds stay local to support our CNOY charity partners. It's that I learned about the most horrific thing done to children by the men who run *all of this*, before I even left my bed this morning. 

It's the constant deluge of messages on every platform, and the expectation that we are all always available, everywhere, and if we're not, then we're failing. 

It's that we can work this hard and do this much, and they still laugh at us when they think we're not listening. 

It's all of it. 

It's untenable to live in this reality right now as a woman and a mom, and I'm going to do more about it. But in the meantime,  I do apologize for missing your email.

Every dream starts awkward.

I quit my professional tennis career at 24.

Most people around me had already finished university.
Some were starting their careers.
All looked so polished to me.

And there I was… starting from zero.
Not knowing what a normal everyday life looks like.

I had just enrolled in law school in a country where I didn't even speak the language properly.

German lectures. German textbooks. German exams. 😳 
Half the time, I barely understood what was going on.

I felt behind.

- They own every outcome - zero excuses, zero blame
- They show up when motivation dies (that's when it counts)
- They pivot fast when the plan isn't working
- They play the long game while everyone else chases dopamine hits

Most people will work themselves to exhaustion.

Very few will pause and rewire how they think.

If you want different results, stop asking "What should I do next?"

Start asking: "Who do I need to become?"

99% of productivity advice treats symptoms, not causes.
The difference? 

It determines whether you stay stuck or actually move forward.

Look at most advice online:
- Drink more coffee
- Try a new app
- Multitask harder
- Take a vacation

These are hacks.
They treat the symptom.
Not the system.

And here's the problem with that approach—the same issues keep resurfacing:
→ Overwhelm
→ Burnout
→ Lack of focus
→ Emotional overload
→ Endless decision fatigue

The real fix isn't another trick.
It's a system.

Here's what that actually looks like:

↳ Overwhelm → A clear decision system 
(Example: Pre-decide your top 3 priorities every Sunday so you never start Monday confused about what matters most)

↳ Burnout → Nervous system regulation 
(Example: Build in 5-minute breathing breaks between meetings instead of powering through back-to-back calls)

↳ Lack of focus → Cognitive control systems 
(Example: Create a distraction-free morning block for deep work—same time, same setup, every day)

↳ Emotional overload → Emotional regulation practices 
(Example: End-of-day journaling to process the day's stress instead of carrying it into tomorrow)

💡 Remember: 
Hacks feel productive.
Systems create results.

Stop collecting hacks.
Start building systems.

These feelings have always existed.
You just never had the language for them.

And here's what changes when you find the right word:
↳ You stop dismissing what you feel.
↳ You stop waiting for it to pass.
↳ You start understanding it.

Clarity doesn't always mean solving the problem.

Sometimes it just means knowing what to call it.

8 Words for Feeling You Should Know

My unfair advantage isn't talent.

It's routine.

For years, I thought high performers were wired differently.

Smarter.
More disciplined.
More willpower.
Naturally focused.

They're not.

They just don't negotiate with their routines.

While most people rely on motivation (as I did too),
they rely on structure, on a system (and this was a revelation to me 👀 ).

A simple daily STACK that runs whether they feel like it or not.
Just a few minutes a day to
– Protects their energy before anyone else can drain it
– Sharpens their focus while the inbox is still quiet
– Creates momentum before the first meeting

No drama.
No reinventing themselves every Monday.
No waiting to "feel ready."

Just repeatable actions that compound quietly.
They compound because once the first domino is kicked, the others just roll effortlessly.

👉 Here's what most people miss:

Talent gets you noticed.
Routine gets you results. 
Trains you to do your reps. 💪 

And reps beat potential every single time ❗

This is what purpose looks like.

Sweaty.
Out of breath.
Moving.

I keep on running.

Not just for the endorphins.
Not for the personal records.
Not just to be healthy.

But also because every step creates impact beyond me.
