It's weird. I used to get really excited and make a big deal out of my birthday. 

I feel like I was using it as an excuse to escape from my reality, where I wasn't in the best headspace.

But now that I'm much happier with my life, when birthdays come, I actually get a little sad. 

My kids are growing, my parents are aging, my back hurts, and I've got hair growing out of my ears. 🙄

But I have reason to celebrate EVERY DAY.

Life is good. 

So today I'm gonna allow myself to be a little sad...

At least until the cake comes out. 😂

So what's happening is that now is that people are mailing it in. They are giving up!

Many are giving in to AI, which is why your feed is flooded with robotic posts that all sound the same.

Here's what I think about all that:

GOOD!

Because while everyone else is complaining, quitting, or sounding like a chatbot...

IT'S NEVER BEEN EASIER TO STAND OUT!

The bar is practically on the floor right now. 

If you can show up with content that sounds like an actual human being, someone with real thoughts, real opinions, and something worth saying...

You win.

People are STARVING for that.

I've run my business for 4 years, have 26k followers, and 27 retainer clients, but I still have moments when...

I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing! 

I still:
- Get shiny object syndrome 
- Obsess about vanity metrics
- Take on way on too many things
- Can't commit to one target audience 
- Don't know my numbers as well as I should 

But I'm also:
- Having a blast!
- Supporting my family
- Making pretty good money
- Serving the people I care about most
- Building systems for my business and life

And maybe I'm missing out on more clients, more revenue, and Lamborghinis.

But I'm more of a Jeep Wrangler guy anyway. 😁

Yesterday, I made my first-ever homemade pizza. 

That may not seem like a significant life event, but there's a lot of pressure on me to deliver.

Because the recipe comes from my grandmother.

It was a staple of my childhood. Same for my dad, my uncle, my brother, and all my cousins. 

Grandma's pizza was a HUGE deal.

But nobody has made this recipe since she passed away almost 30 years ago.

My mom had made a ton of her other recipes. But she was always intimidated by the pizza. Something about making her own dough gave her imposter syndrome.

So I was kinda intimidated by it too.

Until yesterday, when I decided, "Screw it. What's the worst that can happen?"

And my pizza came out okay. (6 out of 10)

Didn't get the right texture. It was too thin. Not enough sauce or cheese. 

But it was a good first attempt. 

And I'll do it again. And again. Until I get it to be just as good as my grandma's.

And that, homey, is how you win in life.

If you can't appreciate the engagement you have now, what makes you think you deserve more? 

I just spent 40 minutes replying to 126 comments on yesterday's post.

But here's what gets me fired up. 😡

People complain about reach and engagement... 

But they'll have 7 comments on their latest post that they didn't reply to. 

Guys with 100k followers get 300 comments and reply to every single one. 

That's why they have 100k, and you still have 3k. 

Do you reply to all every comment?

Last year, I did 363 LinkedIn posts, 87 emails, and 222 YT videos. But I didn't create any from scratch.

Because I use a simple 3-step system:

1- I record every sales call, podcast, client conversation, workshop, etc.

2- I use AI to help me identify the best parts and write the first draft.

3- I edit and the Coach D flavor to it. 😎

Because I've fed AI so many hours of my speaking, it knows my voice. And gets me 90% of the way there before I even start editing.

So I know there's a lot of crap AI content, especially on LinkedIn.

But if you really know how to use it well, the time you save is insane. 🤪
