From my time in Nepal, I learned to isolate what really matters and clear my mind of clutter. Online teams often suffer from poor communication. Clear thinking can cut through this.

Another challenge with remote or async teams is culture differences. My time bringing a video game to market with a team from Hong Kong, USA, Singapore, Nigeria, and Israel taught me how to train individuals on systems across different backgrounds.

I think the greatest reward is watching a team working in sync across multiple backgrounds. Even a small team is capable of doing valuable work when set up with the right systems.
