If you want it, go get it. If you want to build that business...

You've got to get serious about the goal.

A goal without taking action is just a dream.

→ Build an offer: A solution to a problem people want to solve.

→ Pick your buyers: Target people who've got budget and have the problem.

→ Map your message: Craft a message that triggers action not just engagement

→ Leads To Clients: Install a system to capture leads, book calls and win clients.

My own experience has been this:

→ Life is tough.
→ Nothing comes by chance.
→ You have to position for it.
→ You have to pursue it.

If you don't go for it, it will pass you by. 

You're one conversation away from winning a client.

So get serious and you'll smash it.

This is the sign you've been waiting for.

You’re not as far from a new client as you think.

Instead of posting and waiting.
Go out and start conversations.

Not pitching.
Don't hard sell.

I make it a mission to start at least 5 conversations every day.

It's the simplest sales strategy you can follow.

Well, a conversation a day keeps.... clients coming in.

Don't wait for the “perfect post” or the algorithm to work some miracle.

One human-to-human chat can open a door you’ve been staring at for months.

If you want more clients, start talking to the people already in your world. 

The opportunity is usually closer than you realise.

They bring in DIYers.

DIYers almost NEVER turn into buyers.

→ Education content builds followers
→ But it doesn't drive action.

How I get clients on LinkedIn

(without pitching)

I've been using LinkedIn as a lead source for 14 years.

2025 has been my best year.

So, I'm breaking down how I get clients here without pitching.

→ LinkedIn Events - I host a weekly lives sharing my experience and practical application. On average 400 people sign up for them.

→ LinkedIn Newsletter - Weekly newsletter giving advice and tips and promoting what I do. I get 7k readers each week. 

→ Hyper Targeted Messaging - Not pitching but speaking to the problems my target audience face. Book 5 calls per week.

All 3 achieve the same thing.

CONVERSATIONS

I just do the same thing over and over.

What about posting?

Well, everything that comes from my content is a bonus.

I don't rely on posts to achieve anything.

I am focused on things I can do over and over again and get predictable results.

Content can't do that.

If you're an expert, coach or consultant, you want to build systems to get leads and start conversations.

That's the key to getting clients.

"I'm worried AI can replace me / my business"

Here's 5 ways to make you and your business AI proof.

→ Trust will fall - AI helps amateurs look like experts. It will be more competitive, but people will look for people with experience and a history of achieving results.

→ Perception will not be reality - If you have a big following, lots of engagement, it is assumed you are competent. People will look deeper before they buy.

→ Paradox of choice - As AI gives us more options and more information, making decisions will become more difficult. Information overload will create space. This will be an opportunity.

→ Niche Specialisms - AI will be the generalist, humans will be the specialists. We'll pay more for specialised advice and less for general advice. Experts in complex issues will thrive.

→ Human skills - The skill in sales and marketing will be your ability to connect and have conversations with humans. It's either get good at AI or get good at humans. No room in between.

AI can only replace what is replaceable.

→ Salespeople relying on automation to get leads.
→ Business owners not having a specialism or USP.
→ Experts trying to appeal to broad markets.

These are the major risks that make you vulnerable to AI.
But in reality, you're just as vulnerable to human competitor.

Think about your moat.
The barriers to entry into your market.

Whether you are looking for a job or building a business, the question is the same - What is my value prop to the market?

→ An ultra human skillset.
→ Deep knowledge and experience
→ A specialism.

These make you AI proof.

We all need leads. We all need clients. 

But people are fed up of sales pitches and robotic, generic outreach. 

We'll look at how to sell better, without the ick, in a way which is effective predictable and sustainable whether you are full time sales pro or a solopreneur.

You think you’re selling outcomes…but you’re not.

And that’s why they never take the next step.

Buyers ignore you when you use words like ‘better’ and ‘clearer’.

Most people claim they deliver “better”, “improved”, “clearer”, “stronger”.

None of those tell someone what will actually change.

A real outcome is something you can check with your eyes or hands.

Examples of change:
 • something that used to take 10 steps now takes 3
 • something that was done wrong now gets done correctly
 • something that sat unfinished is now completed
 • something that caused delays now runs on time
 • something that needed chasing now happens automatically
 • something that broke every week now doesn’t break at all
 • something that required guessing now has a clear answer written down

Those are outcomes because you can verify them without opinion.

You can look at them and say “yes, that changed.”

Adjectives are opinions.
Outcomes are facts.

If you describe what you do using adjectives without an outcome, nobody can see the difference it makes.

People don’t pay for opinions.
They pay for facts they can see working.

Big promises and hype won't cut it anymore.

Focus on building these 3 types of trust.

We are heading into a zero-trust world.
Scammers on every corner.
Hype is rife.

This is why trust will be the most important asset for your career / business. This is why you get referrals, but it's also something you need to build in the marketplace too.

You need to build trust with strangers....

3 types of trust you need to build...

➡️ Trust in You
They need to believe you’re a safe pair of hands.  Not perfect. Not flashy. Just credible, consistent and human.  This usually comes from your story, your tone, your experience and how you show up.

➡️ Trust in the Solution
They must feel confident that what you’re offering actually works.  Case studies, outcomes, frameworks, processes, logic.  This is “proof of effectiveness” rather than hype.

➡️ Trust in Themselves
They might believe in you and the solution but still think they won’t get the result. Help them see the path, reduce the overwhelm, simplify the steps and show them people like them have succeeded.

Trust is built by multiple exposures, not one hit wonders. Someone will need to see your offer 7-11 times before they consider buying it.

This is what the need to see from you:

→ Stories and personal experiences.
→ Micro tactical insights and tips.
→ Past clients successes and wins.
→ Your offer simply explained.

Focus all of your efforts not on getting likes, but on your profile, posts and interactions achieving one thing.... build massive trust.

Become a trusted name in your niche, or you’re done.

What's wrong with this message?

8 reasons this DM will fail.

➡️ The message is too generic.
It looks like it was sent to thousands of people, not just me.

➡️ It lacks research on my company.
Showing no knowledge of my business makes the message feel irrelevant.

➡️ It fails to mention a specific problem.
People only reply if you address a pain point they are currently feeling.

➡️ The opening sentence is wasted filler.
"Hope you're doing well" takes up space without providing any value.

➡️ It focuses only on what the sender sells.
The language is "We do this," not "Here's what you gain."

➡️ The bullet points are features, not solutions.
Listing tools (like Power BI) is less impactful than listing results.

➡️ It gives me homework.
I'm busy; why do I have to match your services to my needs?

➡️ The subject line sounds like spam.
Vague terms like "Transform Your Systems" get flagged or ignored immediately.

➡️ The call to action is too passive.
"If this aligns" is weak; the sender should state why it aligns.

The best type of outreach is

→ The only goal of outreach is to start a conversation.
→ You don't sell in the DMs.
→ You sell on the call.

Sometimes your eagerness for leads makes you forget the human part.

Keep it conversational
Make it about them
Keep it short
Be specific
