That’s when a senior introduced me to content writing through a Facebook group. That’s how my journey began as a freelance writer in 2021.

From 2021 to 2023, I honed my skills in blog writing, emails, ads, newsletters, and website content.

But the real turning point came in March 2023.

I got an opportunity to manage a prominent finance influencer's LinkedIn and Twitter profiles for just ₹5,000 a month.

While the role lasted only 1.5 months, it opened a new chapter for me.

something strange has happened to everyday brands in India.

they’ve disappeared from memory.

yours, mine, everyone else's. 

there was a time when ordinary, daily-use products carried an identity.

cycles - atlas/hero/avon
bottles - pet/milton
shoes - bata/action/shreleathers
suitcase - VIP/safari
geometry box - nataraj
pencils- nataraj/camlin/apsara
pens - reynolds/cello/flair

born in 2002, even I’ve used them extensively as a GenZ :)

none of these were luxury but none were anonymous either.

they lived in the middle for middle-class. they were used because  they lasted in your life long enough to become memory.

these products weren’t built as “brands” in the modern sense.

yet they achieved something more potent - cultural permanence.

now, on this fine sunny afternoon, let me walk you through the same categories.

school bags are used 200+ days a year by almost every child in the country. same with lunch boxes, water bottles, basic study furniture.

high-frequency, emotionally embedded purchases inside millions of homes 🫶

& yet…yet most of these categories are dominated by generics, imports, or price-first local options. 

functional & forgettable (just like every other corporate employee)

earlier generations formed attachments to products because they lasted. they had emotional appeal. 

today, we’ve lost that attachment with our everyday friends of life. 

relationships & objects - we optimize everything for price, likes + availability. 

not really surprising why relationships don't last. consumer behaviour is still behaviour.

a country of 9M people may end up shaping the defence of a nation with 1.4B citizens 👇

that country is Israel.

the new India–Israel defence agreement is much more interesting than the headlines suggest because the story didn’t start this week.

it started in 1999, during the Kargil war.

Indian fighter jets were striking Pakistani positions carved into Himalayan ridges. the targets were difficult to see, harder to hit.

India needed laser-guided munitions, surveillance drones and targeting pods and that too - fast.

Israel supplied them. 

this wartime exchange built the foundation of a relationship (which is now being seen as a defence agreement)

Over the next 2 decades India bought UAVs, missile systems, radars and electronic-warfare platforms from Israeli companies.

today India accounts for ~34% of Israel’s defence exports, making it Israel’s largest arms customer.

but the weapons themselves are only the surface layer.

Israel, a country smaller than many global cities has built one of the world’s most advanced military innovation hubs.

much of that ecosystem develops alongside the United States, especially in missile defence which means deep cooperation with Israel can connect partners to the broader Western defence technology network.

talking about systems like Iron Dome and Iron Beam - they are layered networks of radars, sensors, software and interceptors designed to detect and destroy incoming rockets, drones and missiles in seconds.

& Israel almost never shares the underlying architecture behind those systems.

which is why the current discussions around technology transfer and joint development matter.

because if parts of that architecture begin appearing inside India’s air-defence network, the signal is difficult to ignore.

countries sell weapons all the time.

but they share the blueprint of how they defend their skies with very few.

& if  that happens, it usually means something larger is forming even if nobody officially calls it an alliance :)

we are living in the greatest catch-up century in history.

as almost everyone is playing catch-up with NPCs. 

people you don't even know who inherently make you feel:

late to crypto.
late to AI.
late to wealth.
late to success.
late…to wherever you want to be. 

and it's a major major problem. 

as most of history, your predecessors only saw success when it stabilised.

after years of work.
after decades, sometimes.

now you see it at inception.

1st funding cheque.
1st big trade.
1st viral post.
1st crore.

all in real time. all at once. all before you’ve had breakfast.

so, naturally perception flips.

when you keep seeing people your age already “there”, your own life moving at a normal human pace starts to feel delayed.

even when it isn’t.

an entire generation is now living with the sad disappointed look that they are behind. 

behind what exactly, no one knows.
