Most of it will be wasted.

IBM + AWS surveyed 1,000+ C-suite execs. Here's what separates leaders from laggards:

80% are increasing agentic AI spend. Budgets will nearly triple by 2027.

But most lack the foundation to scale past pilots.

The gap isn't about models. It's about three things:

✅ Architecture (the chassis): Only 1/3 have the interoperability and scalability features agents need to coordinate across systems.

✅ Data (the fuel): Data privacy and security is the number one implementation barrier. 60% say their practices are future-ready, but governance must shift from gatekeeping to enabling speed.

✅ Human-AI collaboration (the powertrain): Ethical AI frameworks are the least mature piece. Only 30% are scaling them.

The maturity gap is real:

89% of advanced orgs have seamless model integration.
58% of laggards do.

Bottom line: Agentic AI doesn't just accelerate your process. It enables what wasn't possible before.
