After spending 24 hours in Nainital, I’m convinced that more sellers don’t mean you’ll earn less.

And late entry to a market doesn’t mean that you have fewer earning opportunities. There were 4+ Maggie and tea carts on the road a few meters away, and all were busy.

It wasn’t luck but a clear indication that if you can spot the right demand at the right place, you’ll crack sales numbers, irrespective of competitors.

The whole situation concludes what a lot of people miss out on LinkedIn, finding clients here isn’t about finding a less competitive market, but more about:

1) finding a market that’ll be relevant in the coming years, the way people saw that Maggie is never going off the trend, especially in the mountains.

2) ensuring that you never lose out on quality, so you get a lot of word of mouth because people do travel in groups. Similarly, if you’re good at your service business, you get more referrals.

3) diversification over a period of time, if stalls are only keeping Maggie and tea, people who love momo will skip the shop; similarly, if you’re only providing writing as a service, learn other aspects of it and grow your business.

TLDR;

1. Don’t choose only a viral niche; choose what has a career even after a few years of the timeline.

2. Focus on the demand for services and the quality of your work, everything else will follow.

3. Don’t live in the bubble all the time, get your work done, learn other things, and keep on growing.

Last week, he was running a FREE workshop and answering all questions around LinkedIn, profiles, niches, positioning, revenue, and more.

I was going through some revenue ups and downs, and he instantly mentioned WHY.

"No clear niche"
(Expect changes in profile by tomorrow).

Main idea: he is extremely tired of AI and overpolished stuff, which is why my raw images actually show the 'human' side.

The next time you show up:

1. Ditch AI for commenting
(use your fingers on the keyboard)

2. Ditch AI for image generation
(show up with your real images, good ones, obviously)

3. Ditch AI for initial drafts
(You can actually learn by doing it yourself)

Write on your own, then use AI to refine.

But, if you have less time, drop fewer comments but no AI stuff, please.

When you are stuck in the loop of 'good-enough' results 'great' will never come.

Time to come out of the loop.

Think → Write → Plan → Strategize → Execute

P.S. Just do it but with "intentions" because randomness doesn't take you so far.

That one cafe in the tea garden was serving more customers than the cafes outside, although both were making money, positioning helped one cafe earn a lot more.

Recently, I visited Uttarakhand and wandered around the mountains, tea gardens, and small villages, which gave me a big lesson on the importance of positioning in any industry.

There were multiple cafes on the roadside, and people were loving their food, but the one inside the garden had a different crowd.

Tourists were ready to wait when it was at capacity rather than choosing other cafes. It was mainly because of the place, which was built inside the tea garden.

You can sit, enjoy your food while looking at the mountains and the garden all at once. 

The perfect view.
A good food.
& an obvious choice.

Similarly, on LinkedIn, founders miss out on the fact that when they are already thriving offline, it’s important to set their online positioning that support rather than the opposite.

Instead of:

1. Random quotes
2. Basic life story
3. Motivational stories
4. Failure stories
5. Random numbers

You should focus on:

1. Quotes that you live by & their meaning.
2. Your life story paired with business learnings.
3. Your personal stories with failures & learnings.
4. How did you overcome a failure?
5. How did your business reach here?

The right questions, paired with storytelling, build a strategic positioning for your brand.

4. Avoid effort (yes, they hate involvement)
5. Escape pain (not interested in tensions all time)

One more simple but important copywriting tip: people don’t care about you or your products, they are interested in what they get & the experience.

For instance:

Founders and executives are tired of receiving AI comments and want to stand out with their comments (yes, humanized ones).

→ This will help them build connections.
→ And eventually make money.

But they also want to ‘save time’ because who would like to spend 2 hours commenting when a business meeting is already pending?

And why would a founder like to be involved with the ghostwriter for commenting when payments are being made for similar kinds of work?

The last one for this post, a person who has already built a business, wouldn’t be interested in seeing the time to comment in different time zones.

I get you.

Because my new founder client received 100K+ on one of his posts, and I saw many 100K+ on my comments, too.

Niche down.
The 'only' advice I received from a top LinkedIn guy.

I've been reading 100s of people who talk about how multiple verticals open up more opportunities for you to earn exponentially.

You get to write for a founder, a coach, a marketer, and many more personalities.

But here's the catch: when you are for everyone, you are for no one, and come out as nobody.

Because a career coach wouldn't be interested in someone who writes for "everyone."

It makes you lose credibility.
It makes you lose the value of "the one."

Here's the route ahead for me:

1) No more vague lines like writing for founders, executives, and coaches out there.

2) No more writing content for only eyeballs and not the revenue, actually.

3) More focus towards finding 1 specific niche and doubling down on what works.
