I hear this every single week from product managers.

And I get it. It IS harder.

But here's what I've learned from coaching 1,000+ PMs:

The market is never the primary reason someone can't land a great role.

Right now — in this market — my clients are landing at Google, Meta, Amazon, Stripe, and Coinbase. Some have multiple offers. Some negotiating $100K+ increases.

Same market as you. Different strategy.

When you say "the market is terrible," what you're actually saying is: "My current approach isn't working in this market."

That's actually good news. Because you can't change the weather. But you can change what you're wearing.

The PMs who win in tough markets ask different questions:

"How do I position myself as the obvious choice?" — not "Why won't anyone hire me?" 
"How do I access opportunities with less competition?" — not "Why aren't my applications converting?" "
What are the people succeeding doing differently?" — not "Why is this so hard?"

These aren't reframes. They lead to completely different actions.

The market is the weather. Your strategy is your clothing.
