Vchol Bonayich Youth Group and Adult Education 

My role as Director of Development and Programming: 
-Help develop a mission statement and Identity for the youth group
-Involved in planning wide range of activities - weekly activities, trips, big-brother mentoring
-Participation in giving classes and running events
-Coordinating the fundraising for the yearly budget- roughly $150000 a year
-Working with the Volunteer Coordinator to increase the number of volunteer staff, and help them become more involved.

- Give a weekly class in Kochav Yaakov to layman (kitchen kashrus)
- have been guest lecturer in numerous venues in Israel and America
-Writing articles in hebrew and English in order to reach a wider audience
-Working on facilitating other scholars to share their knowledge in a variety of ways

 -mentoring young students advance in their studies - teaching approaches to halacha

Derech Institute for Torah Studies (Ohr Somayach)

I teach in a "Gap year" program helping students prepare for collegiate life as healthy, religiously conscious individuals who take active roles in their Jewish communities.
I focus on Judaic studies and life skills.
Judaic studies include teaching: 
-gemara
-Mishna
-hebrew
-hashkafa/Philosophy
-halacha/jewish Law

Life Skills include:
-Decision making: how to make proper decisions and own the consequences
-Learning to choose proper friends and environments
-Self Awareness: clarity about personal strengths and weaknesses, as well as how to properly utilize both
-Goal setting: how to set realistic goals, hot to achieve them, and how to evaluate them

Teacher/Mentor

Ohr Lagolah

Ohr laGolah is the rabbinic training program of Ohr Somayach. 
My classes so far have focused on the role of youth programming in the community.

When these future rabbis go out, they might want to start an extra-curricular program at the school where they teach.
Or, if they have a position in a synagogue, they might want to start a youth program.
Perhaps they'll want to be hired by existing youth groups.

I focus on the following topics:
- What are the specific goals they want to achieve by opening a group?
- How can they determine which type of group will best achieve the goals?
-Should they open a chapter of a pre-existing youth group, or start their own?
-If there is a chapter from a national organization, how can they best integrate it in the community and avoid conflicts and friction?
-In what ways should the community support the youth program?
-How does youth group work differ from classroom management?
-What is Positive Peer Pressure, and how does it impact youth work?
-What ages should be included, and how can they tailor the groups per each age bracket?
And more. 

My classes are drawn largely from my extensive youth background in both NCSY and Boy Scouts. I also have run the Vchol Bonayich Community Programming for the past 10 years, where I've been able to implement a lot of the theory and practices which I've learned over the years.
I've also studied the topic, including courses at Ohr LaGolah when I was a student, and from the JCHS of Gratz College while I was a high school student. 

So far, my focus has been on community building. I also have other classes which I hope to teach in the future in Ohr LaGolah, including focusing on the differences in teaching laymen versus yeshiva students.

Zinuk - nehenim v'lomdim 

-working with people dealing with issues (i.e. self esteem, lack of self-awareness) and conditions (i.e. ADHD, OCD)
-The exercises focus on certain areas (balance, coordination, cross-hemisphere, arobic) which can significantly help many issues
-each client is evaluated by Ahuva Freud O.T., director of Zinuk, who then plans out a specific program for me to run for each of my clients (teenage boys and men)
-the sessions also focus on creating a positive supportive environment where the clients can feel comfortable discussing issues.
