R² and SNR are two sides of the same coin, connected by this elegant relationship:
SNR = R² / (1 - R²)
Or going the other way:
R² = SNR / (1 + SNR)

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬:

R² is bounded between 0 and 1 — it's a proportion. "We explain 75% of the variance."
SNR is unbounded (0 to infinity) — it's a ratio. "Our signal is 3x stronger than the noise."

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬:

R² = 0.50 → SNR = 1 (your signal EQUALS your noise — critical threshold)
R² = 0.75 → SNR = 3 (signal is 3x the noise)
R² = 0.90 → SNR = 9 (signal is 9x the noise — very strong fit)
R² = 0.95 → SNR = 19 (signal is 19x the noise — excellent fit)
