As the Director of Engineering for Lyft's Routing, ETA, Localization, and Data Engineering divisions, my primary responsibility was to oversee the intricate systems that effectively routed our Lyft drivers. This role went beyond merely directing vehicles on the road; it touched every facet of the expansive Lyft ecosystem. Whether it was a rider heading to work, a pedestrian navigating city sidewalks, a cyclist maneuvering through bustling streets, or a public transit user mapping out their daily route, our advanced systems ensured they all found the best possible path.

The main focus of my team was to forge a seamless and efficient connection between Lyft drivers and passengers, guaranteeing prompt arrivals. Achieving this was complex. It necessitated an integration of precise map data, immediate adaptation to real-time signals from constantly evolving road conditions, and the application of sophisticated graph search algorithms. The outcomes of our rigorous efforts, particularly in accurate routing and ETA predictions, were foundational to our dispatch and pricing systems. More than that, they elevated the user experience by providing intuitive turn-by-turn directions. The milestones we achieved in this domain were pivotal to Lyft's day-to-day operations and played a crucial role in shaping our business outcomes.

My team was responsible to build Amazon Maps from ground up for Amazon global delivery business. We are working on large scale Geospatial data stores, imagery and vision based learning systems, programs for collecting sensor data collection, and path-finding systems that provide shortest path between two geolocations for millions of packages to be delivered every day.

Alexa is Amazon’s cloud-based voice service available on tens of millions of devices from Amazon and third-party device manufacturers. With Alexa, you can build natural voice experiences that offer customers a more intuitive way to interact with the technology they use every day. Our collection of tools, APIs, reference solutions, and documentation make it easy for anyone to build with Alexa.

My team was responsible to build comprehensive Machine Learning based systems to personalize Alexa responses to each individual user. These are fully independent systems with functional footprint ranging from large scale batch and stream data ingestion, feature generation, building, training and deployment of ML models, making real time predictions and measuring user feedback.

Amazon Go, a new kind of store with no checkout required, opened to the public in January 2018 at Seattle. Since opening, we’ve been thrilled to hear many customers refer to their shopping experience as “magical.” What makes the magic possible is a custom-built combination of computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning, which come together to create Just Walk Out (JWO) shopping. With JWO, customers are able to grab their favorite breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and grocery essentials more conveniently than ever before.

* I had the privilege of building and leading an amazing engineering team responsible to build the unique cart, ordering and payment technologies for Amazon Books and Amazon Go stores. 
* Launched World's fi rst cashierless Amazon Go store in 2017 – fi rst Just Walk Out store from Amazon.

* Part of the team that brought you Amazon Go. I worked on system architecture and new technology development to build the customer experience for Amazon Go.
* Launched first Amazon Books Store in November 2015 – first brick and mortar offering from Amazon.
* Launched Amazon’s first cross-marketplace selling technology in 2016 that can be configured to sell any number of subscription products from various marketplaces.

* Created first of its kind Amazon own Sortation Services Technology, which expanded to 3000+ Amazon warehouses worldwide and became the sole sortation platform used in Amazon network.
* Designed and launched a highly scalable and available graph database, solving transportation network problems.

* Created a platform that automated building branded advertising websites, which was a $300M branded advertisement business for Yahoo! The automation, templatization and tools adoption saw cycle-time reduce from 6+ months to 3 weeks, and scalability of running 8 campaigns in parallel sprints.
