Redesigned 3 core tasks for 7dish’s meal-planning app for more efficient usability

• Identified existing design usability issues by performing a design audit, and identified three core tasks to redesign; creating a meal plan, saving a recipe, and creating a shopping list.

• Expanded the app’s usability tasks by designing two user-requested features: a weekly meal planner and saved folders.

• Persuaded stakeholders to implement saved folders and meal-scheduling cards.		

Impact: All 12 participants during a usability study rated the new prototype as significantly better than the current version of the app.

UX Design Intern

Fundr

Designed a new upgrade paywall system for Fundr’s new tiered business model.

• Recategorized low vs high-tier plan features based on Fundr’s research and insights on users' most common journeys, creating stronger reasons for users to upgrade to a high-tier plan.

• Introduced a new “plan & add-ons” status feature using usability testing results, helping users reduce clicks and reduce reported feelings of confusion.

• Designed a paywall system with multiple opportunities to upgrade to higher-tier plans based on competitive analysis, resulting in an upgrade probability boost.

Impact: Expected to increase low-tier plan users switch to higher-tier plans by introducing new upgrade prompts.

UX Designer

FimiMALL

Designed a new driver delivery app for a Toronto-based startup where the driver receives and completes new orders in a time frame of 5-48 hours

• Improved the previous delivery app by incorporating modern aesthetics, an integrated map system, and ongoing and new order features, integrating feedback from existing FimiMALL drivers.

• Designed three spotlight features: Ongoing order list, spot info card, and favorable tips bar, increasing expected new order volume and holding an advantage over competitors with unique features.

• Enhanced FimiMall’s and driver’s partnership by implementing a higher level of transparency throughout app features, eg: earned cash/distance calculation tab.

Impact: Expected increase of 2x orders and new delivery drivers based on the new app design.

I am a UX Designer with end-to-end project experience in SaaS, e-commerce, and consumer apps.

Hey Karen Woodin-Rodríguez (UX Career Coach), I stole your screenshot!

I met Christopher Miller first.

And honestly? I was blown away. 

He talked about UX careers like they weren't some impossible mystery you had to suffer through but actual puzzles you could solve if you just had the right strategy.

It felt like someone finally got it.

Then I met karen.

And I was like, "Wait." These two have the same ENERGY. 😶 

Same depth. Same unwavering belief that designers deserve to thrive,

Not just survive...

That rare kind of energy that makes you feel seen, not sold to.

And I remember thinking, "These two need to meet each other."

So I did what any slightly chaotic community builder would do:

I introduced them and pushed for them to try and meet.

And it finally happened!

(Best move I've made all year, by the way.)

What Karen discovered on that call with Chris—the whole "hunt vs. search" mindset? 

That wasn't just a lightbulb moment for her coaching.

That was a career turning point.

Because here's the thing:

I've been hunting. Not searching. Hunting.

And it worked.

Full-time Product Designer role in the bag (And I love the company and the people I work with). 

Real opportunity. Real growth.

I’m sooo ecstatic to share that I’ve joined XY.AI Labs as a Product Designer. 👀

It already feels like the kind of place where thoughtful design actually matters and where I get to build tools that make people’s daily work smarter and lighter. 🙌🏻

Getting here wasn’t a straight line, ofc.

At one point, I simply stopped applying.

I hit that familiar wall where sending another résumé felt useless, 

so I changed the strategy completely.

I chose to have conversations,

->Not send APPLICATIONS.

I showed up in places that inspired me.

->Definitely like TEDAI San Francisco 
 
I learned AI like my life depended on it.

->Still on it. How’s your experience. With cursor, btw? 👀

I rebuilt my systems, reached out to people who made me better, and found clarity in the momentum.

I even founded  The UX Chats, partly to make networking easier for myself and partly to manage my own impostor syndrome moments.

It became my weekly reminder that being human actually works better than being “perfect.” 👌🏻

Somewhere in that mix, I grew into the designer I was trying so hard to prove I already was.

That shift changed everything.

I swear, the biggest unlock was having COACHES.

I actually exaggerated and got myself TWO coaches 😂… 

They’re people who genuinely cared about my progress and challenged me in unique ways.

Karen helped me sharpen the path.

Chris helped me sharpen the confidence.

BOOM!!

Together, they pushed me further than I could have pushed alone.

Chris once told me:

“Of course you’re landing opportunities… you’ve got TWO coaches for God’s sake.” 

😂… He wasn’t wrong.

Because this community has been such a real part of my journey, I’m bringing both Karen and Chris together for a special UX Chat session.
