As the Regional Director for North America at ICCA, I am passionate about driving growth and fostering collaboration within the global meetings and events industry. ICCA has stood at the forefront of shaping the future of international association meetings since 1963, and I'm honoured to be part of a team that champions innovation, sustainability, and advocacy on a global scale.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of strategizing, planning, and executing transformative events—from intimate gatherings to international conferences. My career has been built on an unwavering commitment to innovation, creative problem-solving, and a collaborative approach to ensure that every event exceeds expectations. Along the way, I've been fortunate to be recognized with honours such as "Planner of the Year" by Smart Meetings and a spot on the "40 Under 40" by Connect x BizBash.

But more than accolades, it's the connections I've built and the stories we've shaped together that truly inspire me. It was the Guinness World Record attempt to host the largest online event gathering, GMID Goes Virtual, in 2020, which connects almost all the industry associations across the globe. It was #EventprofsBreakShit that I co-founded in 2021, seeking an honest, authentic, but joyful way to explore event technology. 

These are the real rewards of our work, and they underscore the power of collaboration in our industry.

Since the late 90s, I’ve built a reputation for being a respected concert, nightclub, and mixtape DJ. 

I’ve shared states with artists like Jay-Z, Big Sean, Eminem, Beyoncé, J Cole, Snoop Dogg and Dave Chappelle and for brands including Cisco, Adidas, Cadillac and Bloomingdales, among others.

What I love the most about being a DJ is unifying diverse audiences and bringing people together. When I transitioned into the corporate world, starting my own digital marketing agency, I blended my two roles by performing as a DJ at corporate events.

What took this to the next level, however, was COVID.

With people stuck at home, quarantined, scared about their health and the health of their families, their jobs, and more, I took to social media to hold virtual sets. I performed weekly on Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube, lifting spirits and morale. 

The experience was intoxicating and it led to my transition back to DJing full-time. Now I’m offering virtual and hybrid events for corporate clients as a way to unify teams, inspire creativity, and celebrate company victories.

I’m often told that my shows are one-of-a-kind. That they are something my audience didn’t know they needed. That is why I do what I do and why I’m looking forward to continuing down this path of creating relationships with corporate clients that provide regular touchpoints to keep morale lifted and spirits high.

Yes, I’m a DJ, but I’ve broken the mold.

I began as a club and concert DJ in Detroit, performing on stages with Eminem, Beyoncé, Big Sean, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg and many others.

While I maintained my DJ career, I put my law and business degrees into practice as the owner of a digital marketing agency, helping clients with content creation and strategy, managing traffic, and converting sales. Things were good, but my work wasn’t lighting a fire. 

That all changed during COVID. 

With the pandemic, came the opportunity to use my talents to lift people’s spirits. I started with two virtual sets a week on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch, allowing people to let go of their problems for an hour and just enjoy the music. 

Even remotely, I could feel the energy of people in the “room,” and it helped me as much — if not more — than it helped them. THIS lit my fire by allowing me to be a light, and unequivocally pointed me in the direction of offering my services as a DJ to corporations for virtual events and in-person parties.

This feels like a calling.

Each event is a unique opportunity to make a difference. I talk to each client to learn about their goals and objectives, leveraging my own experience in sales, marketing, and public speaking to create a one-of-a-kind interactive journey that lifts spirits, boosts morale, and unites diverse and distributed audiences.

Music feeds the soul. It can spread joy and help us forget about our problems. My DJ sets are meant to do that while also inspiring deep thought and creativity.

I’m looking forward to building long standing relationships with my clients (including GitLab, Nike, Google, Campbell's, Cisco, Workday, Dell,  ManyChat, SAS, and more) — much like a membership at a gym — to keep everyone engaged and inspired.
