I couldn't keep a nanny for more than 3 months.

Now I've had one for more than 3 years.

Okay so the first ones never lasted. Completely my fault.🫢

I micromanaged everything.

Like, everything. The way she cut vegetables (too thick, apparently). 

How she folded the kids' clothes (wrong method, according to me). 

Where she put the dishes (not where I'd put them). 

I'd watch her do something and I could literally feel myself getting annoyed over the tiniest things.

She'd go quiet after a while. Stop trying to do better. 

Why bother when I'm just going to swoop in and redo it anyway? 

It made zero sense but I kept doing it.

I literally hired someone to help me, then ended up doing all their work.

I was exhausted. Completely losing it. 

A friend of mine told me straight up one day - "you need to chill."

She was right.

With my current nanny, I made myself 1 promise. I shut up and let her do her work.
3 years later, she's still here. 

And I actually have energy left at the end of the day to be present with my kids instead of re-folding laundry.😁
