I'm an incredibly proud Autistic woman and the Founding Director and CEO at The Digital Picnic, a company that teaches digital marketing ... and manages a full suite of digital marketing efforts for our clients, too.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always seen life in content.  Well before the internet even existed, tbh.  Even as a kid, I can remember watching the schoolyard playground… and I’d turn whatever scene I was taking in into content in my head: I’d script, copywrite, cinematic music would begin to play, there’d be characters, and affiity, and hero campaigns, and... *content*.

I used to feel like Haley Joel Osment from The 6th Sense, but instead of “I see dead people”... it was “I see everything, literally ev-ery-thing in content, and just… life in 4k, in general”.

I ended up in marketing, and strategy, and unsurprisingly specialising in content strategy… and now I own the associated specialist agency.

Now? I lead a team, and my favourite thing about my leadership style is my unoffendability.  

... I think I lied to you there, actually.  

My unoffendability isn’t a “leadership style”, it’s actually the favourite thing about my Autistic brain: I’m not built to take offence to anything, and everything.

I prefer to save my offence for the stuff that matters, which, in the whole scheme of things… isn’t a lot, really.

My leadership is calm, regulated, and unoffendable… because I was raised by a solo parent Autistic Dad: we lived well below the poverty line, but I had the kind of generational wealth others could only hope for, i.e a calm, regulated, unoffendable, neuroaffirming Autistic Dad.

I took my agency from 4k to a multi million dollar agency in x4 years… and I am only interested in hiring the kids who, like me, became the adults who see life in strategy, and creativity, and content, and more.

I refer to them as Kind Geniuses™️

I’m x11 years into Founder’hood now, and I quickly realised that life is too short to have anything other than Kind Geniuses™️ on your team. 

I want the tryhards, and the folks who wear high standards like a badge of honour, and the people who want to come to a workplace to do the best work of their career, and for us to go on to become a collective who celebrate the most underrated trait; effort.

I can never believe I get to call this “work”, tbh.

I need to let you know that I'm x3'ish months away from getting everything I've been so deserving of for the x11+ years I've been in business.

...and now it's x3 months away from happening.

And I know this is a painfully cryptic post, but I just *needed* to share my joy with my LinkedIn community here, so many of you are fellow Founders, because I am just so happy you can't even wipe the smile off my face, nor my heart.

It really is true what they say: it takes 10+ years to become the "overnight success".

I have a really exciting announcement: I'm launching a podcast that's genuinely been x5 years in the making.

[no exaggeration].

I've had the same name for this podcast for those full x5 years, and as each year passed without my being able to fully hit go on it? ... the name only felt more and more true of everything that's involved in business ownership.

Here it is: a podcast dedicated to stories about climb across Founder'hood, leadership, and your overall marketing.

I couldn't have done this without TDP's Social Media Specialist, and now producer, Stephanie Clifford.

Steph and I decided we need a launch party, where we'll gather together in a *genuinely* intimate setting, true to TDP style, and share stories about climb, and TDP's climb, and the evolution of this podcast [it's *quite* the story]... as well as having us all likely - and collectively - realising we're all on our own respective "climbs".

... we probably just need to be in a room together to take it all in, yea?
