Sales Coordinator is a title, what I do….

I am frontline, like, I am the first person people typically talk with when they call any office in Canada. And I am a master of telephone engagement.

People call in, and we chat, and I figure out who they need to talk with. Along the way I grab their contact details and then introduce them to the Account Manager. Right there! Right then!

Over the phone, a 3 way call with me, the prospect, and the Account Manager, who can connect all the dots. It’s a really cool way to do business and is a pleasant surprise for our clients.

Sometimes the Account Manager is not available, so I’ll book a Teams meeting, right there, and then, and the 3 of us chat a little later

I facilitate and lead these conversations and let the client know what to expect, support the Account Manager and transition the client into the Account Manager’s hands..

It’s a positive and engaging experience for the client because I am a master of this environment.

Sometimes things can get a little crazy…

I recently took a call from someone who had applied for a job and wanted to speak to someone about the application.

I can’t do that from my desk, but I know how they can communicate with HR. Was I able to convey that in a way that made sense? Nope.

The call ended with me on the receiving of a hearty and sincere “Frack You!” Okay, it was a different F bomb.

Here is what I did… I immediately called our Director of HR and explained what happened and asked could he please call this person asap.

Here’s why… For whatever reason I wasn’t able to properly communicate best next steps to this person who is stressed out and looking for a job, plus maybe other things I don’t know about.

This is the time to be compassionate and kind, so let me elevate this to Director level and get things straight.

When I am not answering the phone, wearing my Director of First Impressions hat, I am dialing out, making friends. You could be next!

Through signed agreements with various large industrial titans in the lower mainland, Weber Supply helps them accomplish their goals by managing their onsite supplies. 

Specifically a large portion of the VMI Rep’s day is spent at Seaspan in N Van, managing their parts inventory. 

Upon arrival, clear security and equip oneself with proper PPE, then take inventory of agreed upon verticals and submit an order through a phone based application (Point), upsell when the opportunity presents itself, submit quotations, maintain Weber’s presence and continue to build the corporate image. 

Then duplicate this activity at other large unique industrial sites throughout Metro Vancouver, driving upwards of 250 km/day in Vancouver (there are stories!) plus make one off deliveries, and assist in the warehouse, an RFID based environment.

Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Sales Representative

BBSpro Services Inc.

BBSpro manufactures world class products and then distribute them to the Hospitality, Health Care, and Manufacturing channels. 

With a focus on Hospitality, up to 80% of the day is spent in an Account Manager / VMI role, visiting clients to ensure they are properly equipped. BBSpro also rents, sells, plus services and maintains commercial glass & dish washers, so troubleshooting technical issues onsite is also part of this role. 

Up to 30% of time is spent actively cold calling into Hospitality and Health Care facilities. Less than 10% of time is spent on administrative duties. 

Within all this, BBSpro also designs, builds, installs and maintains beverage lines.

90% cold calling / 10% account management. 

Cold calling can be email, telephone (mostly), or in person (most fun) to determine if there is a need for CSA approvals, and if there is, win the business.

While the focus was SPE-1000 / 3000, typically with same day or next day service, the mandate included opening business within the Gas, Fenestration, Plumbing and Building Materials channels.

Over this period I took the Special Inspections Division from less than $2K / month to over $25K / month.

Promoted to VP 6 months later with a renewed mandate to build the brand and expand distribution. 

For the next 3 consecutive years the Auto Body Division led the company in all critical metrics like most units sold, most revenue generated.

I had zero experience when I began each tenure and still produced, sometimes exceptionally well.

That's what happens to me, every time.

I wish I had some wild and crazy sales strategy, but I don’t, “be interested instead of interesting” opens a lot of doors.

I have led training seminars and done presentations 1 on 1 and to large groups, connecting the dots on technical and product details in a way that people ‘get it’ and act. 

As a hunter I am relentless; as a farmer I am attentive and thorough.

In summary I find, develop, maintain and grow the business.
