With a team of 150+ people, I am going to build my start-up ‘1% Club’ in public.

But before I tell you more, here is a little backstory

It started during my school days when I could not make it to my dream IIT (average Indian household story). That setback made me fiercely competitive. I carried that energy for the next few years of my life.

Fast forward to 2019, I picked up another goal of securing a promotion at my job as a management consultant. Without this promotion, MBA application would look bad. Two years of pure hard work and grind led to a massive 5% increment in salary with no promotion. 

There you go, setback number 2.

Next, I attempted CAT 2021 with the aim of IIM Bangalore in my heart, and if you didn’t see it coming already, this was setback number 3.

I'm sure my story resonates with millions of you guys. So what did I do next? I wrapped up all these learnings, treated failures as feedback, and evolved in an unconventional manner. This is how Finance With Sharan was born.

My mission to spread financial literacy and make it fun for others saw growth in leaps and bounds. Over the last 3 years, I have realized that there is a need to make finance simple and effective, and that is exactly what I am here to do.

Around 2 years back I started The 1% Club. an exclusive members-only community to help people achieve financial independence and become the top 1%. Financial independence is a superpower to never be controlled by money. Less than 1% of people can achieve in their lifetime. Even Kaun Banega Crorepati winners end up bankrupt. Clearly, there is a massive need for us to learn what our schools never taught us and The 1% Club is the solution to this problem.

I sat down with Sahil Chaudhary, Fund Manager at Jio BlackRock, to understand what makes this Fund any different.

Gold just crossed ₹147,000.
So is it too late?

That exact question came up on my podcast.
I was speaking to Kirttan Shah, who manages over ₹2,500+ crores.

He bought gold at ₹48,000.
Exited at ₹90,000.
Yes, he doubled his money.

But his reason for buying gold had nothing to do with returns.
According to him, gold solves a portfolio problem no other asset can.

Here is how he explained:
• When equities fall, gold usually holds or rises
 • Gold is linked to the dollar, giving currency diversification
 • During market crashes, gold becomes the funding source to buy more equities
 • Over 20 years, gold has delivered 8–9% real returns plus ~3% currency benefit

His exact insight stayed with me:
If equity markets fall and you want to average down, the 10–20% allocation in gold that went up gives you the confidence and cash to act.

That is why professional portfolios behave differently:
When equities rise → Gold controls risk
When equities fall → Gold funds opportunity

The part most people ignore:
Gold can take 7–14 years to cross previous highs.
Which is why you never chase gold rallies.
You accumulate it when nobody is excited about it.

Yet nobody's paying attention.
Aditya Khemka , CIO of InCred Financial Services, manages Rs. 1500+ crores and has delivered 50%+ CAGR in healthcare investments.

His insight is simple but powerful:
Indians are spending more on healthcare every year. 
As per capita GDP crosses $2,500, people stop spending incremental income on food and clothes.
They spend it on looking better, living longer, and staying healthier.

Here's the arbitrage:
– D-Mart (food & beverage): 100X cash earnings
– Trent (clothing): 100X cash earnings
– Apollo Hospitals (healthcare): 48X cash earnings

Healthcare is growing faster but trading at HALF the valuation of slower-growing sectors.

And it has 5 decades of runway ahead.

What percentage of your portfolio is in healthcare stocks?

I've always said: "Don't buy a house!"

For years, I've been the guy telling people to invest in equity, not lock up capital in illiquid real estate.

Ashwinder R. Singh has seen 30 years of real estate cycles. And his perspective hit me hard.

He said something that completely reframed how I think about asset classes:
"Calculate the returns on the property your grandfather bought 50 years ago. That's real estate's true horizon"

Everyone compares real estate to equity markets on a 5-year basis. 
That's the wrong game.

Real estate is about discipline, not timing.

Just like SIPs work because they force discipline, real estate works because you can't check prices every day and panic sell.

He also shared why the 2021-2025 boom happened:
Startup IPOs created millionaires who parked money in real estate (only way to save ESOP tax) 

Equity market profits got rebalanced into hard assets
Tier-2 cities like Goa, Chandigarh, Indore exploded

His advice for real estate investment:
– Minimum 10-year horizon if it's not your first home
– Expect 5% CAGR on average, with 2 major spikes giving you 25-50% returns
– Focus on behavior trends, not price predictions
– When markets go crazy (like the last 4 years), prepare for normalization

₹45,000. Gone. Every Single Month.

That was my rent in Indiranagar, Bangalore when I was still figuring out my life.

I'd sit in that tiny apartment, transfer the money to my landlord, and watch it disappear from my account.

But here's what most people missed:
The government just sent a clear message – India is shifting from a trading economy to an investing economy.

In today's Budget Special episode, I sat down with CA Nitesh Buddhadev and Feroze Azeez to decode what Budget 2026 really means for you.

Here's what we discussed:

Why markets fell despite a "stable" budget: 
– STT on F&O increased from 0.02% to 0.05% (150% jump) 
– Interest deductions on borrowed capital removed 

Clear signal: Government wants long-term investors, not short-term speculators

The good news everyone's missing: 
– TCS on foreign spending reduced from 5% to 2% (traveling abroad just got cheaper) 
– TCS on education/medical abroad: Slashed from 20% to 2% 
– ITR filing deadline extended to August 31st for ITR 3 (one extra month!)

What this means for you:
