My kids got Harry Potter Guess Who for Christmas, and watching them play gave me an idea. What if I built a digital version with our 46 family members? They could learn their relatives the same way they're learning about Hogwarts. I opened Bolt and started building. 34 versions later, I had a working game. But the real lesson wasn't about AI coding tools.

It was seeing PM fundamentals play out in real-time, compressed into one afternoon. Clear requirements prevented wrong interpretations. Defining the data model upfront avoided rewrites to the architecture. Thinking through edge cases early meant fewer fixes later. AI doesn't ask clarifying questions or push back on ambiguity. It just builds exactly what you describe.

Vibe coding is a mirror for PM discipline. It validated what I've learned across teams: clear requirements, defined data models, explicit acceptance criteria. The 4 patterns that made this work 👇

If I were teaching someone about AI product lifecycles for the first time, I'd start with POCs.
Not because they're the first step in a framework diagram.

Because they're where most AI products quietly die.

It reminds me of my research days working with Zebrafish embryos. You don't scale up a staining protocol before you've proven it works on a handful of samples.

Same logic applies to AI.

But here's what most teams get wrong: they run AI POCs like traditional software spikes. Build it, demo it, ship it.

AI doesn't work that way.

Your POC might hit 85% accuracy. Looks great in a demo. But what happens to the 15% that fails? Who handles those cases? What's the cost of being wrong?

These are the questions traditional PMs aren't trained to ask.

𝟏. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 "𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞" I follow the work of 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐑𝐮𝐬 (𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐈𝐓 𝐂𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐋) to understand the future of robotics. We are moving beyond basic automation to "physically intelligent" systems that navigate complex retail environments. If your supply chain isn't prepared for robots that "learn" by demonstration, you're building for the past.

𝟐. 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐈 The goal is no longer just a better website; it’s about how AI understands 3D space. I study 𝐅𝐞𝐢-𝐅𝐞𝐢 𝐋𝐢 (𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐇𝐀𝐈) and her work on Spatial Intelligence. This is the key to merging Ecommerce with the physical world—allowing agents to manage inventory and customer interactions in real-time.

𝟑. 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 "𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠" Traditional forecasting is dead. I look to leaders like 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐂𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐍𝐠 (𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝) for how to bridge the "Proof-of-Concept to Production" gap. We are using AI to ingest real-time signals—weather, social trends, port delays—to rebalance inventory before the stock-out happens.

The winners in 2026 won't be the ones with the most AI tools. They will be the ones with the best Data Integration.

January 1st is easy. The energy is high, the goals are fresh, and everyone is cheering.

But it’s now mid-January. The "new year" high is wearing off, and real life is hitting back. This is where the "New Year, New Me" momentum usually starts to fade.

In my 15 years of navigating the ups and downs of a career, I’ve realized that grit isn’t a grand explosion of effort. It’s what happens in the quiet moments after the "shiny" feeling leaves the room.

Grit is often invisible. It’s the persistence in the "down" moments that no one sees:
    - It’s staying patient while helping your kids navigate a difficult homework assignment or an emotional challenge after you’ve already had a 10-hour workday.
    - It’s the discipline to keep the bedtime routine calm and loving when your own mind is racing about the market.
    - It’s a wife holding the household together while her husband navigates high-stress deadlines.
    - It’s a husband/wife being the "rock" at home even when his own career feels uncertain.

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭: 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭.

The real fuel comes from the "village" around you. I’m talking about that core group of friends or mentors who push you to keep going—not because they want a referral, a favor, or anything in exchange—but simply because they want to see you win.

Having people who believe in you when you’re too tired to believe in yourself? That is what makes the difference between quitting and crossing the finish line.
Grit is a form of humility. It’s acknowledging that the path is hard, admitting you’re tired, but choosing to take one more small step anyway because you have people worth fighting for and people fighting with you.

Success isn’t about the leap; it’s about the crawl.
