I am the Founder, CEO and Clinical Director of The Ralph Veterinary Referral Centre. This is a multidisciplinary small animal specialist referral hospital in the South East of England west of and near London. The Ralph has one of the UK's biggest 24-7-365 Emergency and Critical Services. Our compassion- and ethical practice-focused startup hospital opened in February 2019. It is now (October 2023) the UK's largest independent (non-corporate, non-university) referral centre with ~230 Ralphers. (http://theralph.vet/)

I set up the Veterinary ECC Small Talk project. This is now centred on a busy Facebook group with 54,000 members as of October 2023 (https://www.facebook.com/groups/veterinaryeccsmalltalk/). I also wrote a book and developed an app on Small Animal Emergency Medicine (https://www.kimbavetapps.com/).

I set up, personally fund and run The Ralph Site (http://www.theralphsite.com/), a non-profit pet loss support project including a website with information, resources and memorials, a blog, and a busy Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/TheRalphSite/) and private group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/theralphsite). The group now has 12,000 members (October 2023).

I am a Co-founder of Ethical Globe (https://www.ethicalglobe.com/), a directory and community of vegan people, businesses, organisations and projects, and of Veterinary Vegan Network (https://www.facebook.com/groups/vetvegans/).

In 2023, I became a Board Member for BradyCare, an animal welfare and veterinary education charity (https://bradycare.org/).

Building a team of RVNs to promote nutravet products to vet practices across the UK. Recruiting and training new members of the team. Day to day support and individual targets within the team to ensure individuals are motivated, efficient, and performing to be the best of their ability, using incentives ‘carrots’ rather than a ‘stick’. Responsible for the performance of the external sales team to ensure that revenue targets are achieved. Regular reviews via shadowing on the road. 
Continued support during pandemic lockdown, adapting to enable the team to continue working (with some furlough along the way). Supporting each other to help maintain positive mental health during this difficult time. 
Technical interest, primary point of contact for all UK Trade and Private Label sales and technical related queries.

With over 30 years of experience in the veterinary and animal health industry, including 10 years in the nutraceutical industry, I am passionate about providing high-quality products and services to vet practices across the UK. As the UK Sales Manager at NUTRAVET, I lead a team of registered veterinary nurses who shared my passion for promoting natural, ethical, and sustainable solutions for animal health and welfare. I value collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning, and I strive to bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team and the company.

In my previous roles, I have been responsible for the performance and development of external sales teams, ensuring that customer relationships are maintained and revenue targets were achieved. I recruited and trained new members of the team, provided day-to-day support and feedback, and motivated them to be efficient and effective. I also negotiated with pharmaceutical companies, sourcing and ordering products, and reducing waste helping to increase profit margins. I have developed skills in new business development, key account management, and customer relationship management, which I apply to grow and retain a customer base. I also hold a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace, which enabled me to support the mental health and well-being of myself and my team, especially during challenging times such as the pandemic lockdown.
