A timely question as we step into a new year.

𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬
When engagement dips, it’s rarely one issue. It’s usually a sign your #VivaEngage network needs a refresh, a reset, or some intentional care.

Here are the areas I review with clients:

1️⃣ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞
Are your communities still aligned to business goals, culture priorities, or employee needs?
If the purpose has drifted, update it - or retire the space. 
Clear purpose = healthy engagement.

2️⃣ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩
Every community needs active, accountable owners. Aim for at least two admins who genuinely care and are passionate about the theme.

3️⃣ 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬
Use built‑in analytics to see what resonated last year.
Which posts sparked conversation or connection?
Let those insights shape your 2026 content plan.

4️⃣ 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬
Dormant spaces dilute attention.
Archive what’s no longer needed, merge duplicates, and spotlight the communities that matter.

5️⃣ 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞
Update your “How we use Viva Engage” guidelines, posting tips, and community standards.
Make it easy for people to participate confidently - especially new joiners.

6️⃣ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬
Check naming conventions, visibility, and compliance.
A tidy back‑end creates a smoother, safer user experience.

7️⃣ 𝐑𝐞‑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬
Reconnect with your champions network.
Share insights, celebrate wins, and set shared goals.
Champions are your biggest multiplier - I refer to them as the VIPs of your network.

8️⃣ 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬 & 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬
Identify the cultural, business, and seasonal moments that matter this year.

Map out how Engage can support each one.

9️⃣ 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
Encourage leaders to recommit to showing up authentically.
Short videos, reflections, or behind‑the‑scenes posts build trust and connection.

Define what success looks like:
Is it: participation, cross‑functional conversations, leadership visibility, or knowledge‑sharing.
Clear goals make impact easier to demonstrate.
