⇢ Check LinkedIn for job changes in target accounts
⇢ Monthly: cut ICPs and verticals that aren't converting

Cold Outreach

⇢ Send 10 emails with a specific trigger in line 1

It’s about asking better questions.

Here are 7 Socratic rules for better discovery:

1. Ask Before You Pitch

Questions first. Pitches second. 

→ You can't position a solution until you understand their problem.

2. Challenge What They Assume

Buyers operate on beliefs they've never questioned. 

→ Challenge their assumptions about budget, timing, and need before they become objections.

3. Guide, Don't Tell

People resist being told what to think. They embrace conclusions they reach themselves.
 
→ Ask questions that lead them to the answer.

4. Turn Statements Into Questions

"Our platform reduces churn" triggers defense. "How are you handling churn today?" invites dialogue. 

→ Questions engage. Statements close doors.

5. Stay in Curiosity Mode

The second you assume you know their pain, you stop uncovering the real problem. 

→ Genuine curiosity reveals what scripts can't.

6. Embrace Silence

After asking a hard question, shut up. Let them think. Let them talk. 

→ Silence creates space for truth.

7. Leave With Mutual Clarity

Discovery isn't a box to check. It's alignment. 

→ Both sides should leave knowing exactly what happens next and why.

RevOps is the most important team most reps never think about.

They control your CRM, your leads, your quota, your territory, and your paycheck.

So what is RevOps?

Revenue Operations. The team that connects sales, marketing, and customer success.

Their job: remove friction, fix the data, make revenue predictable.


Why does it exist?

Old way: Sales Ops, Marketing Ops, and CS Ops all report to different teams. 

Nobody talks. Data doesn't match. Leads leak.

RevOps fix: one team owns the entire revenue engine.


RevOps vs Sales Ops:

• Sales Ops supports sales only. RevOps supports the full customer journey.

• Sales Ops reports to VP Sales. RevOps reports to CRO or CEO.

• Sales Ops is one piece. RevOps is the whole puzzle.


What they control and why you care:

⇢ CRM and tools = what you use daily
⇢ Lead routing = which leads you get
⇢ Territories = where you can sell
⇢ Quotas = your number
⇢ Commissions = your paycheck
⇢ Forecasting = what leadership expects
⇢ Deal stages = how pipeline is measured

If it touches revenue, RevOps touches it.

The best reps don't ignore RevOps. They partner with them.
