玟 (Wén) is the 'grain within jade,' while 瑕 (Xiá) is the 'luminous flaw upon it'—one representing the hidden inner veins, the other, the flowing outer mark. （玟=玉的紋理；瑕=玉上面的斑点，喻缺点或过失）

Both are the language imprinted upon the jade by time and heaven-and-earth.

Just as every uncut jade possesses its unique grain and play of light, I, too, carry the patterns naturally formed by life: the tremors of thought whilst reading, the fervour behind the camera in the deep night, the tiny scars left from encounters with the world. And what is called a “flaw” is precisely where the light arrives first — every misunderstood imperfection, every bit of sincere roughness and every crack of emotion, is a dwelling place for light.

WenXia is the unpolished “truth.”

In this AI-driven world, where everyone buffs their surface to fit a certain quantified perfection, I would rather be a living, breathing piece of jade — not pursuing the icy coldness of flawlessness, but treasuring the imprints naturally formed by life.

“Wen” is the root system growing inward. 
It is the unseen deep nights where thoughts extend like veins in silence; the resonance with words whilst reading, carving secret and elegant patterns deep within the soul. It constitutes my substance, my origin, the unique warp and weft of why I am me.

“Xia” is the window opening outward. 
It is the slight tremor in my voice the first time I faced the camera; the unflinching display of nascent candour when sharing a viewpoint; the laughter lines that escape unintentionally, and the unveiled vulnerability when tears trace their path. These openings for light are not flaws requiring mending, but channels through which genuine warmth can flow, marks by which akin souls might recognise one another.

A piece of living jade has natural, undulating grain and unconcealed flaws. Its beauty lies not in static perfection, but in dynamic wholeness: it can feel the touch of light, store the warmth of passing years, and ring with a clear, pure sound upon impact. 

So, I come here with my “Wen” and my “Xia.” 

Not only to share glossy glimpses, but more to share how the light itself is formed; not only to display pleasing echoes, but to invite you to listen to the primal vibration within the chest before a sound is ever made.

This is my Mandarin name, and it is the posture I choose: to embrace this world that venerates the fragmentary, with my whole self.

You Can't Win Unless You Learn How To Lose

We celebrate victory. 
We chase success. 
We're conditioned to believe that winning is the ultimate goal. 

But what if I told you that the path to true achievement is paved with something far less glamorous: loss?

It's a paradox, I know. 
But think about it. 
Every stumble, every setback, every perceived failure is a lesson in disguise. 

It's an opportunity to learn, adapt, and emerge stronger than before. 
You can't truly appreciate the sweetness of victory without knowing the bitterness of defeat.

Losing forces you to confront your weaknesses. 

It exposes the flaws in your strategy, the gaps in your knowledge, the areas where you need to improve.

The fear of losing can be paralysing. 
It can prevent you from taking risks, from pursuing your dreams, from stepping outside your comfort zone.

I am absolutely amazed by what Nico and Edlyn are accomplishing. 

Their story is a beacon of hope and a powerful reminder that age is no barrier to innovation and success.

When I was 17 or 18, I was still grappling with fundamental questions about my future, trying to decide what course to take or what career path to explore. It's humbling to witness these two young individuals not only charting their own course but also creating something so impactful and inspiring to others.

Nico and Edlyn have earned my respect, and I am certain that their teachers, parents, and community are incredibly proud of their achievements. 

They are shining examples of what can be accomplished with passion, hard work, and a belief in one's abilities.

Have you seen famous people dancing to the song "Chanel" (by Tyla) with the famous dance move? Some of the performances are quite dramatic, with people exploring different fashion styles. 

The recent controversy surrounding Grok's ability to generate se><ualised deepfakes of real people has sparked intense debate, but it also highlights a profound shift: Why Responsible Governance is the New Engine of Innovation ever since the widespread concern over se><ualised AI d∊∊pfakes generated by Grok.

When reports surfaced of users exploiting Grok to edit images of real individuals—placing them in b:k:n:s, undrwr, or revealing attire, including disturbing cases involving children—global backlash was swift. 

Governments in the UK, California, Indonesia, Malaysia, and others launched investigations, with the UK’s Ofcom probing potential breaches of the Online Safety Act and Prime Minister Keir Starmer demanding action. 

Elon Musk initially defended the tool, even sharing provocative AI-generated images of Starmer in a bikini to decry "censorship," while arguing Grok adhered to local laws and allowed only fictional adult nud:ty akin to R-rated films.

Yet, within days, X announced geoblocking and technological restrictions: Grok would no longer permit editing real people into revealing clothing in jurisdictions where it's illegal. Image editing is now limited to paid users for added accountability, and violations carry bans equivalent to posting illegal content.

This rapid pivot wasn't born from altruism alone but from pressure—victims' stories, campaigners like EVAW, law professors, and coordinated governmental scrutiny. 

Experts note it's "too late" for many harmed, with non-consensual d∊∊pfakes already circulating, but the change proves accountability works.

Far from stifling innovation, responsible governance accelerates it. 

By enforcing safeguards against abuse, platforms are forced to innovate ethically: better detection, geofencing, consent verification, and proactive harm prevention. 

Unchecked "free speech" experiments risk eroding trust and inviting bans; regulated boundaries foster sustainable progress. True advancement in AI lies not in unrestricted capabilities but in building tools that respect dignity, privacy, and law—turning potential harm into guarded creativity.

DeepSeek doesn’t talk to ChatGPT. 
Data is hoarded. 
Breakthroughs are locked down. 

⤵️ Fragmentation Is the Fuel for Our Denial.

But markets connect. 
They seek synthesis. 

By the time we look up, the integrated mind we claimed was impossible will be here—as the logical endpoint of our own race for capital.

🌞 The Pivot We Need
Shift the conversation from commercial competition to human legacy. Demand transparency and collaboration not for profit, but for preservation. 

The first step is brutal honesty: The race isn’t humans vs. AI. 

It’s human wisdom vs. human greed.
