From 1990-1994 – I was a salesperson and loved every minute of it (I broke records, built amazing client relationships, and put hundreds of thousands of miles on my Honda Accord).

From 1994 to 2018, I co-founded and helped grow nine early-stage companies.  Seven of these nine companies successfully exited for over $600M.

During these years, I learned about mergers & acquisitions, product-market fit, managing cash flow, evangelical sales, raising funds, making & losing millions, how to creatively accomplish much with very little $, and much more.

In 2018, I said to myself, “Ok, it’s time for something completely new.” 

Since then, I have consulted for or led, large teams within Private Equity backed or Public Companies. The companies that I have helped over this time have experienced value increases of over $2B.

In 2022, I made the decision that I want to continue to lead teams and assist companies and their clients in obtaining breakthrough results.

But my passion has always been focused on answering one question:

“How can companies build a revenue generation system that can forecast and achieve its goals, year after year?” 

It’s taken me 25 years of grinding, experimenting, failing, and retrying to finally be able to answer this question and now I am sharing it with others.

Hey there, thanks for stopping by my little corner of the interwebs. 

I'm Shaun and here is little bit about me. 

Between the chaos of COVID and ruthless cost-cutting, I found myself on the receiving end of not one, but three separate layoffs in just three years. It was a brutal wake-up call - I couldn't keep riding the corporate rollercoaster and decided to roll the dice on me. 

With over a decade of recruiting experience across major corporations and as a TA leader & executive search consultant, I knew I had the skills and industry expertise to run my own show. So rather than wondering what job storm would hit next, I took control and founded Arkham Search.

My vision was clear: to build a boutique recruiting firm that truly partnered with clients as an extension of their internal teams. One that provided consultative, white-glove service rather than just throwing resumes over the fence.

At Arkham, we dive deep from the start, mapping out the full talent landscape for each client. We then build out customized recruiting processes, looping in the TA team and stakeholders as strategic partners from day one. We live and breathe transparency, setting realistic expectations and holding ourselves and our clients accountable every step of the way.

With expertise spanning enterprise organizations to high-growth startups, I understand the unique talent challenges companies face at each stage. Our specialties include building out Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Product Marketing teams for healthcare, AI, and SaaS companies from Series A through C.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that recruiting can be a madhouse at times. That's why we keep our brand voice human at Arkham, having fun on social and sharing memes about the insanity of it all. We're professional to the core, but also try keep to it real - calling balls and strikes. 

Since we've gotten the boring stuff out of the way, let's get into the real stuff. I'm a dad to two hilarious and semi feral children and a husband to an amazing wife who means the world to me. I am a life long  New York Jets fan, have a weird obsession with Batman, muscle cars and when I'm not chasing small children through out the house, I am usually playing guitar or creating things to make people laugh.

I dropped out of school in seventh grade.

Ran away from home at thirteen.

Joined a Peruvian boy band called Echanto.

We were almost famous in Lima.

The band broke up over creative differences.

I became addicted to Skittles immediately after.

Homeless sleeping in a milk crate nightly.

Red Lobster dumpster became my only food.

Jeff the busboy fed me, I was his pet.

One night the idea hit me hard.

What if minds could automate automatic automations?

I got to work under the bridge.

Word spread through the milk crate community.

A stray dog named Glenn knew investors.

We raised eight million dollars from them.

Lost it immediately because I’m an idiot.

Turns out I don’t know shit about engineering.

If there’s one lesson here it’s this:

Stay in school and graduate high school.

Don’t be a fake dork millionaire drop out.

I’m living proof that hustle isn’t enough.

Also Skittles addiction is very very real.

If you’re an SDR, AE, Sale Leader & need a job now, long term plays ALONE aren’t going to move the needle.

You have to create urgency.

Networking is coffee chats that go nowhere.

Hunting is running an actual sales cycle.

On yourself.

Most salespeople get weirdly passive about their own career.

But you already know how to sell.

Use those skills on the most important deal: yourself.

Build your pipeline. 

10-15 target companies.

Multi-thread like you’re working an enterprise deal.

Start with current AEs. Gather intel.

Move upmarket to VPs. 

With context and credibility.

You wouldn’t single-thread a $500K deal in your territory.

Don’t single-thread your career.

The ATS is a black hole.

But you have cell numbers. And direct emails. (Free/inexpensive data tools)

Stop waiting for permission.

Start hunting for yourself.
