Eric Dane’s last words to his daughters are something I can’t stop thinking about. I hope you take a few minutes to listen.

He passed away from ALS at 53, just 10 months after his diagnosis.

While he was speaking to his girls, this message is for every single one of us.

He didn’t talk about his career, his money, or his legacy. 

He talked about being present. About love. About the people you choose to keep close.

Most people aren't lazy.

They're just stuck in the wrong phase.

Here's what I mean:

When you're lost, you don't need motivation.
You need education.

When you're educated, you don't need another course.
You need to execute.

When you're executing, you don't need a new strategy.
You need consistency.

The problem is most people keep buying courses when they should be shipping work.

Or they keep shipping work with no plan because they skipped the learning phase.

Progress isn't complicated.

It's sequential.

Figure out which phase you're in.
Then do the one thing that phase demands.

That's it.

Nobody talks about this enough:

The bar is on the floor.

Not because people lack talent.
Not because they lack resources.

They lack consistency.

Most people show up excited on Day 1.
By Day 14, they're "reassessing their strategy."
By Day 30, they've moved on to something else entirely.

Meanwhile, the person who just keeps showing up — good attitude, no drama, ready to work — starts pulling ahead.

Not because they're special.
Because everyone else quit.

That's the unsexy truth about getting ahead:

You don't need to be the best.
You need to be the last one standing.
