Getting go-to-market wrong in AI fintech is a timing and insight problem.

Last week, during a fireside chat at the AI Lab Supercharged Academy, supported by the Financial Conduct Authority and delivered with CFTE - Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship, we spent time on one core theme:
how founders stay ahead of the market and regulation, rather than reacting to it.

My perspective was simple:

Great GTM in regulated markets starts with knowing your customer deeply—whether that’s the end user or a financial institution—and understanding what regulation will force them to do next.

That’s where opportunity lives.

Consumer Duty created a void: millions of people are economically unviable for traditional advice, and institutions are under pressure to serve them better. That gap wasn’t obvious from market data alone; you had to read the regulatory direction and the human behaviour behind it.

AI becomes powerful when it’s designed into that space:
• Anticipating regulatory direction, not waiting for rulebooks
• Solving real customer anxiety, not just operational cost
• Creating propositions that institutions need, not just want

The strongest AI fintechs won’t chase demand. They’ll create it by sitting one step ahead of customers, markets, and regulators.

That’s the GTM mindset that scales in financial services.

It was a real privilege to be in the room with so many prominent, thoughtful industry leaders who genuinely care about improving how financial services show up in people’s lives.

The great discussion on financial health really resonated with what we’re building at Aventur,  removing complexity, listening more closely, and creating support that works for real people, not abstract models. More conversations like this will help drive the meaningful, lasting change the industry needs.

Yesterday in London we brought together a group of innovators and industry leaders to explore how reframing ideas of financial health can shape a better future for all. 

Thank you to all who came – for the generosity of insight, challenge, and lived experience you brought into the room. 

And a special thank you to Alastair Campbell who shared ideas from his new book, “Healthy Money”, which calls for those in financial services to embrace a more holistic vision of financial wellbeing. 

Participants explored a set of case study examples drawn from an ethnographic research project we carried out with a leading national UK bank, using real people’s stories to surface the “invisible economy” that so often underpins resilience and wellbeing. 

By decentring the bank and listening more closely to lived experience, the conversations highlighted how financial services can better recognise motivations, respond to emotion, and partner in new ways to support healthier financial lives.

Currently part of CT: Accountants and Advisors specialist R&D team, providing knowledge and support towards our clients through their claim period. Within the role, able to advise software, life science and hardware clients on the claim period and the possible credits they may receive. Gained a large insight to this sector through experience, trial and error. Whilst at CT, currently studying toward my ATT qualification which I hope to complete in the coming year.

Prior to this, studied Criminology at Abertay University, gaining critical insight into crime within society and how people function within society. Focusing with a final dissertation on the impact of policing within the wider football community, focusing on the societal impact that it has. While attending University, has worked in Sainsbury’s and Marks and Spencer. This provided fundamental skills in the retail sector and dealing with people and their specialist needs throughout Retail allows for independent working alongside working as a team, trying to maintain high standards throughout.

Key Skills:

• High interest in IT: Microsoft PowerPoint, Excell, with experience in Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Lightroom. With qualifications in WestLaw alongside University grades.

•Excellent level of written and verbal communication: Through essay writing and verbal presentations in university. While at Marks and Spencer, speaking to customers and sorting out stock through the apps used.

•Quality Work: In M&S Quality is the main focus, pairing this with University work has allowed me to gain great results throughout

•Problem Solving/ Analysing: Working in retail provides problems throughout the shift. Working in retail for over 4 years has allowed me to harness great problem solving skills in the sector. This alongside my University work and the Analysis it holds, provides me with great problem solving and analytical skills.
