I was born and brought up in a small city in India where I first hand witnessed disparity between different classes of society. 

In the first few years of my professional career, I tried to bridge those disparities by using the power of finance in catalyzing urban reform. I worked with Governments and Multilateral agencies such as the World Bank and Asian Development Bank to set up financial institutions committed to developing smart infrastructure in Africa and Southeast Asia.

A firm believer in capital for social good and equitable education for every child, I later helped raise funds from individuals, corporations, and foundations for a global nonprofit. My passion for creating social change drove me towards setting up two non-profit organizations that work towards empowering the underprivileged community. 

In 2019, I was selected as a part of the LGT fellowship cohort- a group of ten changemakers working around the globe to help create social change. In late 2020, I got sold on the promise of decentralization and permissionless systems spent the next year or so building multiple onchain products and communities. The products I've built have won grants from foundations of all major blockchains.

My vision for the next decade is to build at the frontier of technology and create protocols and structures to bring India and the world onchain.

When I am not talking about bringing the world onchain or sustainable social impact, I am talking about football, rock music, or my cross-country travels.

I co-founded Opten Power after spending a few years watching large companies struggle with decisions that should have been straightforward. While working in management consulting on cost optimization for private-equity-backed businesses, one pattern kept repeating.

Outside work, I follow AI and climate tech closely, read philosophy when I want better questions, and stay curious.

Electricity just became the new oil. Big Tech built the AI, and now they’re running out of power to run it.

If you look closely, the shift is already here.

Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are using AI in daily work, as emails get drafted automatically and reports that once took days now take minutes. The harder part now is keeping them running. Every hour. Every day...

In 2024, US data centers consumed about 183 terawatt-hours of electricity. Roughly 4 percent of total US power demand. About the same as Pakistan’s annual electricity use.

AI doesn’t switch on and off. A single ChatGPT query uses nearly 10x the power of a regular Google search. Multiply that by millions of queries running continuously, and power stops behaving like a utility bill.

By 2030, data center electricity demand is expected to rise sharply again. That’s when power stops behaving like a utility bill. It starts behaving like a growth limit.

Now look at India.

Adani Solar is planning a $15B AI data center with Google in Vizag. Reliance Industries Limited is building a 1 GW data center in Gujarat. India’s data center capacity is on track to grow 5x by 2030.

The pattern is clear. Data centers aren’t limited by space or hardware. They’re limited by power. For manufacturers serving global tech companies, this changes priorities fast. 

Growth now depends on how much power you can secure and what it costs. AI gets the attention. Power decides who actually gets to scale.

Why did Deepinder Goyal just quit running a $30+ billion public company?

Eternal made ~$12 million in profit in Q3 FY2025-26, and he just quit the CEO seat. It isn’t about succession planning but about optionality. 

Once you’ve built something as large as Zomato, the constraint stops being money. It becomes governance, predictability, and quarterly patience.

Goyal handed the reins to Blinkit's Albinder Dhindsa, the operator who scaled Blinkit from a loss-making quick-commerce experiment into one of Eternal’s fastest-growing, execution-led businesses. 

So Deepinder is leaning into: 
📍Temple – a brain and longevity experiment many call premature. 
📍LAT Aerospace – regional aviation with hybrid electric aircraft. High risk. Hard engineering. Long timelines.
📍Pixxel – space tech focused on deep data, not consumer hype.
There’s no obvious common thread here except one. These are problems where capital doesn’t win. You need patience, first-principles thinking, and a builder who always wants to build.

We’ve seen this movie globally.

→ Elon Musk moved from payments to rockets.
→ Jeff Bezos from commerce to space.
→ Larry Page and Sergey Brin stepped away from Google to chase harder questions.

Scale creates freedom. Freedom lets founders choose impact over optics, and that shift is rarer than we admit in India, which is why this move matters.

Businesses with large power loads can cut electricity bills by 30% with solar if they move in the next 5 months.

Think about it this way. 

When a new airport or metro line gets announced, the land prices increase, and suddenly - everyone wants in.  

Solar power is moving into that phase. Right now, solar decisions are still calm. You can speak to suppliers, compare options, and choose timelines that fit your business.

What changes after June 2026? Open Access solar projects must use Indian-made cells. At the same time, India is installing about 35 GW of solar every year, while domestic cell capacity is closer to 24 GW. Short supply means higher tariffs and longer waiting times for late movers.

That gap doesn’t cause a crisis. It causes congestion.

And congestion shows up :

 📍Lead times stretch
 📍Pricing becomes firmer.
 📍Flexibility reduces

We’ve seen this before. When EV subsidies under FAME-II were reduced, prices jumped almost overnight. Companies that had already moved stayed protected. Others paid more for the same outcome with the same pattern and different sectors. That’s why some teams are acting now. 

Others are preparing for a tighter market after 2026, with higher buffers and longer timelines. Both are thoughtful strategies. June 2026 isn’t really a solar story. It’s a timing story.

Everyone's laughing at the "Trump wants to buy Greenland" headlines. I think they're missing the real story.

Greenland sits on an estimated 4 billion barrels of unrisked recoverable oil. It also has rare earth minerals that China currently controls over 60% of, and the melting ice caps are opening up shipping routes that cut Asia-to-Europe transit by 40%.

This isn't about one's real estate obsession. It’s about who influences the rules that will shape global trade and power for decades.

What's really happening:

→ Trade and energy routes are no longer treated as neutral infrastructure. They are increasingly strategic assets that shape pricing, reliability, and power. The US is acting very unpredictably right now.

→ Major powers like the US, China, and Russia are increasingly prioritizing domestic resilience over collective guarantees, pushing regions to take on more responsibility for their own security and supply chains.

→ After World War 2, global trade and security were organized around stable alliances, open routes, and cheap energy. That system worked for decades, but its assumptions are now being tested.

For countries like India, this matters more than we think. We import 88% of our oil. Our supply chains run through choke points controlled by others.

The world order isn't shifting. It has already shifted. We're just catching up on the news. The question isn't whether this is right or wrong. It's whether we're prepared for what comes next.
