I was born and brought up in a small city in India where I first hand witnessed disparity between different classes of society. 

In the first few years of my professional career, I tried to bridge those disparities by using the power of finance in catalyzing urban reform. I worked with Governments and Multilateral agencies such as the World Bank and Asian Development Bank to set up financial institutions committed to developing smart infrastructure in Africa and Southeast Asia.

A firm believer in capital for social good and equitable education for every child, I later helped raise funds from individuals, corporations, and foundations for a global nonprofit. My passion for creating social change drove me towards setting up two non-profit organizations that work towards empowering the underprivileged community. 

In 2019, I was selected as a part of the LGT fellowship cohort- a group of ten changemakers working around the globe to help create social change. In late 2020, I got sold on the promise of decentralization and permissionless systems spent the next year or so building multiple onchain products and communities. The products I've built have won grants from foundations of all major blockchains.

My vision for the next decade is to build at the frontier of technology and create protocols and structures to bring India and the world onchain.

When I am not talking about bringing the world onchain or sustainable social impact, I am talking about football, rock music, or my cross-country travels.

My responsibilities included strategy, partnerships, marketing,  business development, and technology.  We leveraged human-in-the-loop, auditable Artificial Intelligence, best-of data analytics capability, data protection, and privacy design principles and built a robust platform to serve millions of citizens.

As the Domain Leader and Global Head of Strategic Initiatives, I was responsible for business growth across all country offices, diversification to new sectors, strategic partnerships, and organization growth strategy. I reported to the founder and Global Managing Director. At MSC, I acquired new skills to further strengthen my contribution to the formation of digital economy and some of the projects were as follows

•Prepared blueprint of the operating model of a multi-country Centre sponsored by NITI Aayog and Prime Minister’s Office, Government of India. The Centre will evolve as an Intergovernmental Organisation (IGO) and will support digital financial inclusion globally. The IGO will also support FinTech startups in India to export product and services to other countries.   

•Co-founded India Livelihoods Collective - India’s first non-financial and non-funding commitment based collaborative platform. Altogether, the India Livelihoods Collective marks its footprint across 25 states with a cumulative experience of 494 years, 18000+ collective livelihoods workforce and about 100 ongoing large programmes for reviving the livelihoods sector in India.

•Led the transition of Business Development Domain to Strategic Initiatives.

•Built capabilities (in-house & through strategic partnerships) to shape large opportunities (value of US$1M+) in new sectors.

I worked as a Senior Manager/Senior Principal in Accenture Strategy and continued my contribution to the formation of a digital economy. As part of the Health and Public Services Team, I was responsible for business expansion and delivery in Asia and US markets. I was also the lead for Higher Education Sub-Industry for India and worked closely with the Global Leadership.

•Led the business transformation track in the feasibility study for designing ‘Customer Centric e-Platform’ for a Government Department in Hong Kong. 

•Supported National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in program management of skill development program sponsored by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. 

•Led the Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) exercise for Shiv Nadar Foundation (SNF). SNF manages multiple Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of HCL Technologies and focuses on creating iconic institutions of excellence in learning across the education spectrum.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

•Designed blueprint, business strategy, and operating model for a multi-faceted global organization. The structure consisted of a Public Policy Think-tank, Leadership Development Academy, Engagement Platform, and Social Initiative Incubation Centre. The investment budget was close to US$100M.

•Supported Government of Gujarat in program management of direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme, leveraging Aadhaar (Unique ID for Citizens of India).                                  

•Managed and closed deals worth more than US$2,00,000 in new Accounts.

•Led Analyst and Consultant School as a faculty member for Accenture Management Consulting University (AMCU) in Chicago and Kuala Lumpur

I was part of the Government Advisory team of PwC and reported to the Senior Partner/Global Government Industry Leader. I worked on large transformation projects globally. All projects influenced the formation of the digital economy. Some of the projects were as follows

•Led the project focussed on direct benefit transfer (DBT) of fertilizer subsidy of US$1B to more than 10 million farmers across India, implemented in the following phases

Strategy and policy Formulation – Conceptualised and drafted policy paper and implementation approach for the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers. Collaborated with senior bureaucrats, industry associations, cooperative societies to finalize the recommendations and presented and sought approval from a task force headed by Cabinet Minister. 

Implementation and Program Management – Led the Program for implementing the DCT policy recommendations for the distribution network from manufacturer to end beneficiary. Scope included formulating and monitoring various initiatives, change management, and technology enablement for fertilizer dealers and farmers spread across India.

•Managed and closed deals worth US$4,00,000 in India and other emerging markets such as Oman and Bangladesh.

Principal Consultant / Manager (Management Consulting | Advisory Services)

I worked on large transformation projects globally. All projects influenced the formation of the digital economy. Some examples were as follows

•Led the IT Strategy Track for Income Tax Reforms Project funded by DFID (Department of International Development, UK) in Bangladesh, leveraging senior tax experts from the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and India.

•Led the assessment of key initiatives of the Ministry of Civil Services and the Ministry of Education, Oman to meet the coveted United Nations Public Services Award (UNPSA) criteria. Provided recommendations to enhance service delivery efficiency and won UNPSA in 2011.  

•Led the Governance, Funding and Spending track for IT Strategy for Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) worth $200M working with experts from UAE, Jordan, and the UK.

•Assisted Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT), Government of India), in formulating rollout strategy, implementation guidelines, and governance framework for pan India rollout of the e-District project aimed at citizen services reform at the grass-root level. The government of India approved the program with a budget of US$400M.

Senior Consultant/Assistant Manager (Management Consulting | Advisory Services)

I worked on large e-Governance projects in India. All projects influenced the formation of the digital economy. Some examples are as follows

•Managed implementation of the first e-District pilot project in India as part of the National e-Governance Program and later supported the pilot implementation across 8 States in East, West, and North India. 

•Designed and conducted the change management program focussed on e-Governance for the Indian Institute of Public Administration covering more than 200 senior bureaucrats.

Consultant (Management Consulting | Advisory Services)

•Led a team of 10 Engineers, working directly with the Senior Leadership Team of IBM India to understand and streamline various reporting requirements across business functions such as Strategy, Operations, Finance, and HR.

I was co-inventor in a patent approved for an AI solution designed for progressive social protection models. 

I also follow the latest Web3, Metaverse, DAO, DeFi, and NFTs trends. It's not the choice but the convergence of technologies that is the key to solving many complex problems worldwide.

1. As one of the few founding team members of Digital India, I led and contributed to multiple digital governments and skilling initiatives in India. I worked closely with the Government to ideate, implement, and scale initiatives from zero level.

2. I was part of the core team that designed the Aadhaar-enabled DBT of multi-million dollar fertilizer subsidy under the guidance of Mr. Nandan Nilekani and Dr. R. S Sharma. The design has been adopted at scale, and the impact is visible today.

3. I worked extensively in financial services for under-served people in multiple developing countries, using FinTech innovation as a key enabler.

4. I was a member of the Global Expert Committee formed by the Arab Economic Unity Council. The committee members were leaders from the UN, World Bank, and leading consulting/technology firms.

5. I serve as a jury member for multiple social impact awards and Innovation Labs, and I mentor startups at Citizen Innovation Lab (CIIE.CO IIM Ahmedabad) and other forums.
