Stop treating all "closed-lost" contacts the same. They’re not. 

For example, "timing" isn't the same as "chose competitor."

And "timing" isn't really even closed-lost, is it?

Instead, segment by closed and disqualified reasoning to surface the overcomeable stuff. 

Build follow-ups based on the specific reason the prospect didn’t choose you. Then, trigger the follow-up sequences based on what you actually know about your prospect’s buying journey.

Let’s take “chose competitor” as an example:

To start, how long are most of your competitors’ contracts? Trigger a follow-up 2-3 months before the prospect's likely renewal date. In that follow-up, focus on messaging known switching triggers and how you solve for 'em.

Wanna get fancy? If you have a specific competitor who keeps coming up, build a short sequence just for prospects who chose them. This lets you dial up the specificity of your messaging. And really prove where and how you win. 

Your "lost" deals might not be lost... maybe they’re just not ready yet.
