A national franchise, part of a global franchise which helps businesspeople gain more revenue through business networking and qualified referrals. 

Responsibilities 
•	Actively contribute to the strategic planning of the organisation by contributing to the targets and goals for the team each year.  This year we hit our growth target early. 
•	Prepare and distribute our national communications including branding updates, campaign releases and training opportunities. 
•	Provide EA support to our two directors, each with their own unique style.  
•	Support the wider team of local directors with advice on policies and procedures. 
•	Assist the directors to recruit, prepare contracts for, train and onboard new team members.
•	Direct the operations assistant, my full-time direct report, with a focus on:

A national franchise for building inspection or pre-purchase inspection and reports in New Zealand. 

Responsibilities 
•	Created franchise advertisements to help sell our first franchises in New Zealand. 
•	Prepared and delivered franchise presentations to potential franchise owners. 
•	Assisted in the sale of franchises to establish the New Zealand national franchise. 
•	Implemented the purchasing systems for all franchise equipment, software, and systems. 
•	Mapped out all the statistical boundaries for each of the New Zealand franchises. 
•	Provided technical inspection training and support to franchisees in house and out in the field. 
•	Trained and supported new franchise owners to prospect efficiently for inspection opportunities. 
•	Assisted new franchise owners to create professional networks within their franchised territories. 

Achievements 
•	Qualified as a building inspector through both AHIT and InterNACHI. 
•	Designed and built the New Zealand specific software template to aligning our inspection protocols to the New Zealand Standard 4306:2005 for Residential Property Inspection.

•	Schedule and supervise work for John Goodrum’s part time, casual staff, and contractors. 
•	Recruit and train new staff and contractors.  
•	Write marketing text and organise photographs for all new to market properties.
•	Plan, prepare and book promotional materials, weekly display, and open home advertising.   
•	Prepare contracts and take offers for the sale of residential property. 
•	Process contracts to completion of settlement facilitating a smooth transaction. 
•	Regular correspondence with solicitors, vendors, valuers, and purchasers.  
•	Schedule John’s busy open home schedule (often 8 per day) every week. 
•	Call and organise follow up correspondence to all open home attendees. 
•	Developed a call calling system for the team to help John Goodrum prospect for new listings. 
•	Daily database management using Top Producer 8i and the Ray White CRM system.  
•	Attend property viewings or building inspections as needed.

Read that again.

Let it sting a little.

Because it is true.

You know that thing you keep saying you are going to do “when things calm down”?

They will not.

Life is not going to send you a calendar invite labeled “Perfect Time To Finally Get Your Act Together.”

There is no magic gap in your schedule coming to rescue you.

There is only today, and what you decide to do with it.

A year from now, you are going to arrive somewhere.

That day is coming whether you use it or waste it.

The only real question is this: will you arrive closer to the life you say you want, or will you show up with the same problems, the same frustrations, and a fresh set of excuses to explain why nothing changed?

“Later” sounds harmless, but it is one of the most dangerous words in your vocabulary.

“Later” is the soft, polite phrase you use instead of admitting, “I am choosing not to care enough right now.”

You tell yourself you will start working out after the holidays.

You will take your career seriously when things calm down at home.

You will launch the business when you have more time.

You will write the book when work slows.

It all sounds reasonable, but underneath it is the same truth: you want the results without the discomfort.

You are not waiting on the right time, you are waiting on courage.

Picture yourself one year from today.

Same date, same world, different you, maybe.

Future You is looking back at this exact moment.

Either they are grateful that you finally stopped stalling and moved, or they are furious that you wasted another year doing the same things and expecting a different life.

Every time you say “not today,” you are handing that future version of yourself a heavier load to carry.

More regret.

More “what if.”

More “I could have been further by now.”

You are either a great friend to your future self, or a terrible one.

There is no neutral.

And here is something you need to hear clearly, motivation is not coming to save you.

Stop waiting until you “feel like it.”

Motivation is not your problem, discipline is.

You may need an accountability partner.

“All of our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”

The word that hits hardest is not “dreams.”

It is “pursue.”

Dreams feel good.

Pursuit costs something.

Most people are in love with dreaming, not doing.

You build Pinterest boards.

We journal.

We talk about “someday.”

We visualize the life we want, the job we want, the health we want, the relationships we want.

Then we wake up tomorrow and repeat the exact same routine that created the life we have right now.

That is the gap.

Not between you and talent, but between your dreams and your actions.

A dream is not a strategy.

A vision is not a plan.

Hope is not execution.

You can believe in yourself and still go nowhere if your belief never reaches your calendar.

You say you want to start the business, write the book, change careers, get healthy, be a better leader, build a stronger family.

Those are good, powerful desires.

But if I looked at your day, would your actions tell the same story as your dreams?

Or would it look like you are pursuing comfort, distraction, and the approval of other people more than the life you say you want?

That is where courage walks in.

We like to imagine courage as this big surge of confidence that washes away all fear.

We wait to “feel ready.”

We tell ourselves we will start when things calm down, when we have more money, when we have more time, when the kids are older, when the market is better, when life is less chaotic.

Deep down we know how that story goes.

Those perfect conditions almost never show up.

There is always another reason to delay.

Courage is not the absence of fear, it is movement with fear.

Courage is sending the email while your stomach flips.

Courage is signing up for the class even though you feel behind.

Courage is putting the phone down and working on your craft when nobody is watching.

Courage is having the hard conversation that might change everything.

You are not short on dreams.

You are not short on talent.

Most of the time, you are short on courageous decisions, followed by consistent action.

To pursue something means you move toward it, on purpose and over time.

Not casually.

Not only when it is fun or Instagram worthy.

Pursuit looks like choosing your dream again, especially on the days you are tired.

It looks like showing up when no one is clapping for you.

It means learning skills you are not yet good at, being willing to look foolish while you grow, and accepting that progress is usually awkward before it is impressive.

Pursuit has a cost.

It will ask for your comfort.

It will press on your ego.

It will eat into your free time.

It will challenge your old habits and sometimes even your old identity.

If your dream never asks you to give anything up, it is not a dream, it is entertainment.
