Some of the most impactful leadership I’ve seen
didn’t come from the top of the org chart but from the following:

It came from people who chose to take ownership
even when no one asked them to.

Early in my career, I used to think leadership would come with a title.

A promotion. 
A bigger team. 
A formal mandate.

But over time, I’ve realised something different:

Leadership is a behaviour you practice long before anyone recognises it.

It shows up in small, consistent ways:
→ speaking up when something can be improved
→ taking responsibility when something goes wrong
→ supporting a teammate without being told
→ thinking beyond your role, toward the outcome

None of this requires authority.
It requires intent.

And often, the people who do this quietly, consistently,
become the ones others naturally turn to.

Because trust doesn’t come from hierarchy.
It comes from how you show up.

You don’t need permission to lead.
You need the decision to act like one.

Not everyone will understand your journey.
And that’s uncomfortable at first.

Early on, I used to explain myself constantly.

Why I was changing direction.
Why I was saying no to “safe” options.
Why I wasn’t following the obvious path.

I wanted people to get it.

To approve of it.
To validate it.

On paper, their advice made sense.

Stability.
Predictability.
Consensus.

But over time, I started noticing something else.

The quiet resentment when you ignore your own instincts.
The subtle frustration when you live by someone else’s standards.
The energy it takes to constantly justify your choices.

Nothing dramatic.
Just small compromises.

And small compromises compound.

I’ve now lived in two modes.

The first was approval-driven.

Making decisions that sounded good.
Looked responsible.
Kept everyone comfortable.

But it never felt fully mine.

The second is alignment-driven.

The choices aren’t always popular.
They don’t always make sense to everyone.
They sometimes raise eyebrows.

But they feel clear.

And clarity is lighter than consensus.

Because here’s what I’ve learned the hard way:

You can be understood by everyone
or
you can be honest with yourself.

Very rarely both.

This is what alignment looks like in real life 👇

→ Choosing long-term growth over short-term praise
→ Outgrowing rooms without apologising for it

Same world.
Same opportunities.
Very different outcomes.

One path earns approval.
The other builds conviction.

And only one of those compounds.

Because in the long run, you don’t live with the opinions of others.

You live with your decisions.

Most people think their legacy will be written on their resume.

I used to think the same, but it's not true.

Titles.
Promotions.
The right company names.

I thought that’s what people would remember.

Then I started noticing something different.

No one talks about your designation
once you leave the room.

They talk about how you made them feel.

I’ve seen incredibly accomplished people
who left no real impact behind them.

And I’ve seen others
with fewer accolades
who are remembered years later.

Not for what they achieved.

But for how they showed up.

How they listened.
How they treated people when they didn’t need anything.
How they handled pressure without making others feel small.

That’s the part we don’t put on a CV.

But it’s the part people carry with them.

I’ve started paying attention to this in my own work.

The small moments:

→ how I respond when someone is nervous
→ whether I make space for quieter voices
→ whether people leave a conversation feeling respected

Those moments don’t feel like “big leadership.”

But they compound.

They become your reputation
in rooms you’re not in.

And over time, they become your legacy.

Because when people describe you later,
they won’t list your job titles.

They’ll say things like:

“She made things clearer.”
“He made the room feel safe.”
“They made me feel capable.”

That’s the kind of impact that stays.

So maybe the real question isn’t:

What will you be known for?

It’s this:

How do people feel after they interact with you?

-Verified that the checkout receipt values including the transfer in, transfer out, tickets sold and cashed, voided tickets, vouchers sold / cashed, and aw deposits / withdrawn correlated with the daily transaction reports and the teller balance summaries

-Issued discrepancy reports for improperly documented cash total receipts and other financial statements that are not in compliance based on the Rules and Regulations of the Nevada Gaming Control Board

-Processed mail pay audits and documented, verified and distributed checks to customers based on sports and race betting tickets mailed in utilizing A-Hill database software

-Allowed the safe passage of various riders (customers) throughout Clark County in Southern Nevada by meeting and taking them from their pickup location to their destination route

-Utilized the Uber Partner (Driver) App via a smartphone to obtain rider pings based on the current location for both the driver and rider in relation to the Uber Heat Map and had the availability of using either the google, waze, or uber GPS app

-Assured that proper maintenance, cleanliness, and efficiency of the vehicle was in proper working order with friendly customer service (service with a smile)

-Created legitimate spreadsheets to track all the required rudimentary components of utilizing the vehicle including miles driven, gas purchased, and other business expenses that can be utilized as tax write offs working as an independent contractor

Open Hole Wireline Logging Field Engineer Expertise: 

-Utilized electric and geophysical logs to determine the structural stratigraphy and fluid properties including the density, porosity, resistivity, permeability, oil and water saturation, and presence of hydrocarbons in geologic rock formations

-Borehole tools utilized to examine and decipher the rock structures for the well logging analysis include:

1) Gamma Ray - used to measure the natural radioactivity in the rock formation
and for depth correlation. Thorium (Th), Potassium (K) and Uranium (U) were the radioactive elements utilized in this tool 
2) Compensated Neutron - used to determine the porosity index in open and cased hole formations
3) ZDL (Density) - used to measure the formation of bulk density
4) HDIL (High Definition Induction Logging) - measured electromagnetic induction 
5) XMAC (Cross Multipole Array Acoustilog) - utilized sophisticated sonic and acoustic vibration tools with compressional and shear waves to analyze rock lithology, porosity, permeability, mechanical and strength formation, fracture characterization, anisotropy of the formation, and seismic correlation
6) DAL (Digital Acoustilog) - used to measure acoustic wave propagation and seismic exploration 
7) ORIT (Orientation Tool) - used to create a directional survey of the well and orient other log data in correlation with the wellbore and magnetic north and correct logging data for "stick and pull" conditions

-Utilized a UNIX based operating system with an application called ECLIPS (Enhanced Computerized Logging and Interpretive Processing System) when logging wells which consisted of surface equipment, downhole tools and integrated safety circuits

-Helped in scheduling, estimating, and determining the most optimized merchandising products for deliveries and sales throughout the Macy's Department Store

-Utilized the most cost efficient logistical methods for goods to be placed throughout the store 

-Created spreadsheets and reports utilizing Quickbooks and Excel for cash receipts, accounts receivables and write offs, accounts payables, bank statements, and statements of retained earnings to determine inventory brought in and any damage assessments
