Here are a few fun facts about me:

1.	I grew up in Lithuania but have lived in Sweden since 2009. 
2.	Studied international business management and economics at Mälardalen University. 
3.	A former personal trainer and fitness enthusiast but won’t say no to a cookie. 
4.	Every job I got led me somewhere I did not expect. Whether it’s meeting the most fantastic people and making connections or learning skills I will have with me for the rest of my life. 
5.	Currently working in EdTech with a very ambitious and inspiring team.
6.	Former artsy person. One day I’d like to get back into arts as a hobby.
7.	I secretly judge people who don’t like The Office or Brooklyn 99. 
8.	Sometimes I still say “so delicious, fergalicious”  (where my Millennials at?)
9.	One of my former employers said: "Some employees we must have and some are just fun to have." I strive to be both!

Hi! I’m Anne-Sophie 👋🏽, a neuroscientist.

Over the past 12 years, I’ve dedicated my career to understanding how the brain works and how we can leverage that knowledge to improve focus, resilience, and performance. With 6 years in academia and 6 years in industry, I’ve built a unique approach that combines cutting-edge neuroscience with practical strategies to help individuals and teams thrive.

I run mental fitness and performance workshops for organisations that want to invest in their people. My mission is to create workplaces where employees feel focused, motivated, and supported.

Last week I had the pleasure of hosting goal-setting workshops for Wise

As a neuroscientist, I always start with the science of goal setting, not the Instagram version of it.

For example:
 👉 Did you know that techniques like visualisation can boost mood and confidence, but on their own don’t reliably increase goal-directed behaviour?

In one study, the groups who visualised actually had WORSE outcomes at achieving their goals than the control group (even though they reported being happier)

They make us feel good (which matters) but they don’t tell the brain what to do next when things get hard.

Real progress comes from understanding:
🧠 how the brain plans and executes actions
🧠 why motivation is unreliable (and that’s normal)
🧠 how to design goals and systems that still work when energy is low, confidence dips, or obstacles show up

We talked about preparing for the moments when:
👉 motivation disappears
👉 feedback isn’t positive
👉 work feels harder than expected

Another workshop with Wise 💸 💚 

We focused on mental resilience and how to use your brain intentionally to get the best out of it, both personally and professionally.

The results speak for themselves:
✅ 100% of participants said they now have a clear sense of vision and direction for their career at WISE (all rating this 4 or 5 out of 5).

 ✅ 80% said they feel supported by WISE to achieve both their personal and professional goals.

 ✅ 100% rated mental resilience as important or very important for personal and professional growth.

 ✅ 100% also said it’s important that WISE invests in programmes that support mental resilience and wellbeing- with most rating this as *very* important.

Beyond the numbers, participants shared that they left feeling:

Een though it was a longer workshop, they said it felt easy to stay focused and involved.

This weekend, I stepped out of my usual role - neuroscientist, meditation instructor, corporate facilitator - and became the participant.

I attended SHIFT, an immersive retreat concept by Camp Kerala designed around nervous system regulation, recovery, and presence. 

What struck me most wasn’t any single practice, but the conditions that were created, and even though the weekend was structured, it didn't feel at all rigid.

• Time without cognitive overload
• No constant task-switching
• Shared meals and deep conversations
• Structured rest and environments that contributed to learning

From a neuroscience perspective, this is exactly what allows the brain to move out of chronic threat mode and back into clarity, creativity, and regulation.

Even though I know this (and we all know this) it's incredible to experience and to witness. Sometimes we need to stop thinking/knowing and just do the thing.

What I'm taking away from this is to be a little less rigid with my own talks and workshops. Let people learn what they need to learn in that moment, rather than making sure they learn everything I want them to know.

I’m still smiling after yesterday's workshop I hosted for the Association for Coaching (AC)

Over 80 coaches signed up to talk about… sleep. One in 3 people suffer from regular sleep issues, so it's no surprise coaches need tools to support their clients.

Even for businesses, Sleep is a strategic topic. It underpins everything at work:
