I’m running 13 people through my new cohort. Meanwhile, I personally ran through all seven stages of an existential crisis.

Had a full 4-day anxiety spiral + impostor syndrome trial version that included:

“I suck. Shut it all down. Become a florist.”

I didn’t need a tranquilizer, but let’s just say the option wasn’t off the table.

Mistake #1:
I called it a Sprint.

Someone later corrected me:
“Sandra… this is an INTENSIVE.”

Mistake #2:
People were (and still are) REALLY invested.

I completely miscalculated how the structure of the cohort
would directly impact their emotions.

It is beautiful.
And terrifying (weight of responsibility).

Like watching human nature under a microscope.

But here’s the biggest upside:

From inside that meltdown of mine I had ...
I finally see clearly what people struggle with at scale with social media. 

And where any of us can help, and can not help.

The Game is Psychological 

In my region, we have a term for that forehead vein that pops out when someone is being ridiculous: “žila glupača”. Literally, the stupidity vein.

It activates when:

→ you enter a dumb conversation
→ face someone with zero critical thinking
→ you’re smiling on the outside, screaming inside
→ when you listen to someone who complains for sports

Nothing works.
Everything is hard.
Life is unfair.

…and suddenly you feel the pressure rising in your forehead.

My stupidity vein activates at point #4.

I'm doing something a bit out of the ordinary for me.
Sharing a personal story.
(With the help of Sandra Macele and her Authority cohort!)

I've been trying to walk a delicate line on LinkedIn.

On one side is BUSINESS.
On the other is SOCIAL.

The biz side is a piece of cake.

I have oodles of experience.
A solid offer.
And killer testimonials.

The personal/social side has been a challenge.

I like the social sharing aspect of LinkedIn.
And getting to know people beyond their banners.
But I don't like "trauma dumping." 
Which feels both revealing and artificial at the same time.

I first need some guardrails for myself.
Here's where I landed...

I'll try to share stories to inspire or help us look at things in a new light.

Self healing guide

I was a super anxious dude 6 years ago.

I was battling overthinking, worry and loneliness.

I tried practicing all kinds of things from affirmations to positive focus, but nothing helped.

My anxiety got to a point where I became super hesitant to even get out of my room.

One morning after 7 or 8 months into this deep battle with anxiety, I was so tired of fighting my overthinking mind.

So I gave in and accepted my thoughts. It brought some initial relief.

Then it took me on a healing journey processing and releasing the subconscious beliefs and suppressed emotions that were the causes for my anxiety.

Once I took that inner journey, my anxiety became non-existent.

Now I can even talk to complete strangers and connect with them within 5 minutes.

I'm here to tell you, you don't have to live your entire life finding new ways to cope with your anxiety. It's possible to heal it fully with deep inner work.

One thing that makes you resent your career the most:

"Not speaking your truth."

Here's how to step up and enjoy your work life:

- You avoid asking for a raise.
- You avoid sharing a brilliant idea in board meetings.
- You avoid confronting your problematic employees.

Because you are stuck in survival mode.

Your body is still reacting to your childhood trauma.

It fears that:

- You might get rejected.
- You might get beaten up.
- You might not be taken seriously.

like your past childhood experiences.

So it shuts down your confident, creative self to protect you.

So you get anxious and skip things for tomorrow.

Till your career gets so messy from inaction.

Take that uncomfortable action even if you tremble.

Feel what comes up.

That's how you show your body it's safe and invite new experiences.

Over time the change you are looking for becomes natural.

Discomfort is a level upgrade, not a signal to quit.

A common excuse for being stuck in a career that you hate:

"Atleast I have my friends alongside me."

Here's how to level up your career and not live a life full of regrets:

I was stuck in a miserable 9-5 job. I hated it.

The only relief was smoking up with my friends after work.

The routine continued for nearly 2 years.

At some point, I realized:

- I was wasting away my life.
- If I don't go my own way, my life is f*cked.

So I stopped spending evenings with my friends.

Instead, I started building a blog in my evenings.

My friends didn't like it.
The blog failed. But it took me out of the rut.

Then I experimented and iterated to the life I'm living now.

Running a fulfilling biz working from anywhere I want.

Having more than enough time for connections, relaxation, and fun.

If I didn't take risks and face my anxiety of:

- not having a safe job.
- not knowing what to do next.
- not having a friend circle and being lonely.

I would still be making excuses and stuck in my 9-5.
Living the same boring routine every day.

If you have to win doing anything in life:

- You have to experiment new interests, fail, and learn.
- You have to let go of your limiting beliefs.
- You have to become the person who deserves success.

That's the only way you will tap into purpose and align with a fulfilling career.

Don't be the crab in a bucket. Be a shark in the ocean.

Work brought me so much anxiety.

Because of this one seemingly good thing:

"Going above and beyond to make my clients happy."

- I tolerated constant complaining.
- I said YES to tasks outside my scope.
- I attended work-related calls even on weekends.

Because I was afraid of speaking my truth and confronting my clients.

I was seeking their validation with my performance.

When I didn't receive that validation, I started hating my work.

At one point, I got burnt out and quit.

Then I worked on healing my pattern inside a men's circle.

Now I have healthy boundaries with my clients.

The people-pleasing pattern brings so much suffering.

Whether you are a 9-5er or an entrepreneur.

You tolerate other people's bullshit and blame yourself for the consequences.

Because you are afraid of being the bad person.

It comes from your limiting belief:
"I'm responsible for the way others feel."

No, you are not.

People are responsible for their emotional regulation and integrity.

When you do the inner work and heal your limiting belief:

- You hold people accountable.
- You express what you want clearly.
- You stop taking on additional burden.

That's how you bring order to your work life.

That's how you build systems that support everybody to thrive.

Your alignment with yourself creates a more aligned work environment.

You waste 8 hours on tasks that just take 2.

Because of this seemingly harmless behaviour:

"Pushing through anxiety to complete the task."

You focus on completing a task...

At some point, anxiety hits...

You think you are saving time by pushing through.

But the more you push through, the more anxious and confused you get.

All because your nervous system senses danger.

The danger might be: 

- Fear of not sticking to the deadline.
- Fear of making mistakes.
- Fear of getting fired, etc.

The fear activates infinite thought loops.

Making it impossible to focus on the task.

When you push through, it's like trying to speed with the brakes on.

Instead of speeding up, pause and listen to your body.

Learn to calm your nervous system.

That's how you signal the body there's no danger.

Then your mind relaxes and can finally focus on the task.

You can't create when your body is stuck in survival.

"Men don't cry."

A deadly belief why 12 per 100000 men suicide globally every year.

This wrong belief makes men suppress their grief.

The grief from:

- emotional hurt caused by parents.
- betrayal in relationships.
- dying of loved ones.

They carry the emotional weight of the past into the present.

Because they always have to be the strong one.

That's why:

- Men loop in the past in their heads unable to improve their lives.
- Live in deep anxiety trying to hide how they feel.
- Feel like who they are is not enough.

I know this for truth from my direct experience as a man.

I acted fine trying to hide my sad self.

Because I felt ashamed of expressing my sadness.

This constant pressure to hide my feelings brought me huge anxiety.

I was constantly exhausted and avoided social situations.

At one point, I believed I wouldn't be able to cry even when my parents die.

Luckily, after doing subconscious trauma work inside a men's circle, I realized:

"There are no good or bad feelings."

It freed me to feel and process the grief I was suppressing.

I must have cried and released at least 100 times in the past 2 years.

If you suffer from pain you carry silently, know this:

Your grief is as valid as love and joy.

Grief is a beautiful emotion that expresses your depth of love.

You don't have to judge grief.

Feel and process it even if society tells otherwise.

That's the only way you can move on from your past.

That's how you can free your mind and create a fulfilling life.

What men do instead of crying

The biggest deceiver is not the mainstream news.

It is your anxiety.

Here's how to stop letting your mind make your life miserable:

Anxiety hurt my life so much six years ago.

It fed me 1000s of limiting thoughts like:

- People hate me.
- I would never get a job.
- I won't ever be happy like others, etc.

I believed those thoughts blindly, and made stupid meaning out of neutral situations.

If someone didn't pick my call, I made meaning that they hate me.

But the truth was that they were busy with something else.

I lived in a fictional world created by the mind.

I sabotaged relationship and career opportunities right in front of me.

Because of this I became super lonely and unhappy.

Breakthrough came when I started questioning my thoughts.

Instead of believing them blindly.

I realized that 99% of my thoughts were not real.

They were just stupid ideas my messy brain fed me.

Overtime with meditation, my mind became quiet.

I started seeing reality for what it was.

That's when I was able to be present without creating meaning out of everything.

Building relationships and taking on opportunities became much easier.

Questioning your thoughts is the first domino in transforming your life.

My mind went blank during a speech in high school.

I walked away from the stage embarrassed. Saying "Thank you".

After that, I feared doing speeches for almost 10 years.

Now I do:

- Offline and online workshops.
- Unscripted 20-minute youtube videos.

Here's how to stop freezing and slay your presentations/speeches:

You memorize the script.

You perfect the slides for the presentation.

Yet you get anxious when you enter the stage.

Your mind goes blank. You forget what to say.

You are only able to perform at 10% of your capability.

It's not your fault. It's how you were programmed.

Your mind shuts down on stage because of Freeze response.

Your body freezes being seen by people, because it senses danger.

As being seen might trigger some core fears:

- Fear of judgment.
- Fear of getting rejected.
- Fear of being made fun of, etc.

The traumatic situations that you experienced as a kid.

That's why those communication hacks never work.

Because the root fear is still intact.

Do the subconscious trauma work, process and let go of the fear.

Your performance anxiety will fall away.

Your creative brain opens up for clear self-expression.

That's when you can slay your presentations and speeches.

Self-expression is not learned, it's unlearned.

Overthinking sucks the joy out of life.

You live in constant stress and anxiety 24/7.

Here's how to quiet your mind(for inner peace and fulfillment):

When you overthink, your only goal is to find relief from it.

So you:

- Take anxiety pills.
- Exercise for 2 hours.
- Binge self-improvement stuff on youtube.

and do a ton of other things, healthy or harmful, to find relief.

You get that temporary relief when your brain is flooded with happy molecules.

But when the chemical high wears off, your mind starts racing.

Because you haven't resolved why you overthink in the first place.

While I battled anxiety, my main escape was smoking weed and binging instagram.

Because I didn't know any better.

After a ton of trial and error, I healed my chronic anxiety permanently.

Here's what I now know:

You carry deeper subconscious fears that you are unaware of.

When those fears are activated, your nervous system senses danger.

So it fires your survival brain to stay alert. 

Your mind flood you with limiting thoughts to stop you from getting into trouble.

That's the only way your mind knows to protect you.

That's why you overthink.

For eg: If you overthink a decision, you fear failing or going broke.

When you are okay with the outcome, your mind quiets down.

Your job is to feel and process your fears fully.

Once you are okay with the fear, your body signals safety to the brain.

That's when your mind quiets down naturally.

Every other strategy to relieve overthinking is a temporary escape.

A quiet mind is the real wealth. Everything else is secondary.

Acting fine almost ended my social life.

Here's how I didn't end up being lonely:

6 years ago...

When somebody asked me:
"How are you?"

I always replied:
"I'm fine."

even when I felt sad, angry, or depressed.

Even when they could visibly see that my energy was off.

Because I felt that my raw feelings were unacceptable.

I put on this exhausting act of trying to look fine 24/7.

So I could fit in with my friends group.

The constant pressure to hide my feelings brought so much anxiety.

At some point my body gave up.

I couldn't hold it together anymore.

I skipped social interactions.

I became so afraid of people.

I even believed I would probably die lonely.

Stuck in this vicious cycle of anxiety like my past self?

Your way out is not discipling yourself to feel good.

Stop judging your feelings as good or bad.

Accept all your feelings.

Even when society tells you otherwise.

That's when the real relief opens up inside you.

Your mental health starts to improve.

You slowly start to express your authentic self.

Because you gave up the mask of pretence.

When you are crying...

What you love to hear from other people is:

"How you are feeling is completely fine. I'm here for you."

What you hate to hear is:

"Why are you feeling this way?, Grow up."

But you cannot expect others to do that for you.

Be that gentle compassionate person with yourself first.

When you validate yourself, others will validate you.

Inner freedom is not always feeling good.

Inner freedom is being okay with all your feelings.

You fail at networking and persuading people.

Here's why:

You overthink social interactions.

You plan strategies to take what they have.

Whether it's money, a job opportunity or something else.

They feel your taker anxious energy and get repelled by it.

Don't give off the beggar energy.

That people feel like getting robbed.

Instead give off the billionaire energy.

That they feel like they received a million dollars.

So they get attracted to you and ask for more.

To embody the king's energy, it takes a ton of inner work.

You have to let go of our unworthiness and insecurities.

Then you can express your value clearly and be confident about it.

Success doesn't come with more strategy.

Success comes with the energy of abundance you project.

Work can trigger so much anxiety.

Get through an anxious moment fast with this:

Whenever you feel anxious at work, whether it's:

- meeting a deadline.
- running a presentation (or)
- managing your teammates, etc.

Instead of reacting or trying to push through anxiety, pause.

Now:

- Accept all your thoughts(don't fight them).
- Feel your legs to ground yourself.
- Take some deep breaths.

Inhale through your nose. Exhale slowly through your mouth.

Do this for 2-3 minutes to regulate yourself.

Your mind slows down.

You connect with your body.

From this place, take the action or make the decision.

Your outputs will be much more effective.

This is just a quick relief from your anxiety.

It will help you navigate stressful situations.

Permanent healing only come from deep subconscious work.

You cannot fight against anxiety and win.

2 years ago:
I underpriced and worked 12+ hour days even on weekends.

Now:
I work 10-to-12 hours per week from anywhere I want.

Here's how I stopped settling for less and started unlocking my career potential:

It's not by applying for 100+ jobs on linkedin.
It's not by buying courses to upskill myself.

That's surface-level career advice most people focus on.

If I did that, I might find a better-paying career.

But I will end up in the same draining anxiety pattern:

- working overtime.
- going above and beyond to please my client.

That's the way to invite burnout and resent my career like most professionals.

To not repeat the same pattern, here's what you have to do instead:

Break free from core beliefs that keep you stuck in your career.

Your core beliefs might be:

"I'm not that important."
"I'm worthy only if I perform and achieve."
"I will end up being a failure, etc."

You stay true to those beliefs by overworking and undercharging.

When you try new things, those beliefs pull you back like a rubber-band.

That's why subconscious trauma work is so important.

Once you dissolve those beliefs with trauma work:

- Your creative brain will fire up with fulfilling aligned ideas.
- You will only allow the opportunities you deserve.
- You will have healthy boundaries.

That's when you can follow that idea and create a fulfilling career for yourself.

Your career is a reflection of who you have become as a person.

Not because help is unavailable.

But because they fear being shamed for their condition.

Here's an insight to break free from the shame and free your mind:

"Mental illness" is the worst term ever created.

It made people judge themselves for their mental health condition.

I also feared asking for help for my anxiety because of that.

I felt like I was the only one suffering from anxiety.
Because everybody else looked happy.

So I went through trial and error alone for 3+ years.

And finally healed my anxiety with subconscious trauma work.

After my healing, I felt free enough to share my story:

- Inside a men's circle I was a part of.
- With new people I met.

It made me realize that most people are suffering silently.

Because they shared their own version of the story after hearing mine.

My vulnerability created a safe space for them to open up.

The connections with those humans became much deeper.

I watched all those videos preaching "be yourself".

But I didn't knew who I was.

I had many different personalities depending on the day:

"The anxious one"
"The afraid one"
"The lazy one"

The more I tried to find myself, the more lost I became.

Finally, I connected with my true self through deep meditations.

I realized none of my personality traits were me.

They came from my ego. They were survival mechanisms to protect me from emotional pain.

If I had blindly followed "be yourself", I would have been stuck all my life:

- Being the most limited version of myself.
- Believing anxiety is my normal state.
- Never experiencing inner peace and fulfillment.

So here is a lesson for you:

Instead of following "be yourself" advice, transform yourself with subconscious trauma work.

Accept the fact that you were fake your entire life(like 99% of people).

Because of childhood trauma and social conditioning.
Not your fault.

Your job is to disconnect from ego self - The part that believes you are your thoughts.

Reconnect with awareness - The whole that listens to your thoughts.

That's when you finally ground and tap into mental clarity.

Who you are is beyond any labels you put on yourself.

Anxiety isn't a chronic illness.

Like mainstream medicine makes you believe.

You don't need to:

- Get hooked on anxiety pills for decades.
- Take therapy sessions for years.
- Avoid most social situations.

Just a symptom.

A dense sensation showing up in your body.

The sensation is alive because of a core subconscious trauma.

Something that hurt you when you were a kid.

It can take 3 weeks or 3 months depending on your conditioning.

Not a lifetime.

I craved indoors while I battled anxiety.

- lonelier.

You make sure you battle anxiety all your life.

By playing victim and not taking responsibility for it.

Here's how to finally break free from your anxiety cycle:

You might think:

- Your boss.
- Your friends.
- Loud environments.

and a 1000 other situations are responsible for your anxiety.

That's how you stay stuck for life.

The truth is, the outside environment just triggers your anxiety.

But the cause of anxiety already exists within you.

I know this from my own inner battle.

I blamed my friends for my anxiety.

So I chose loneliness and avoided social situations.

But I still felt anxious even when nobody was around.

That's when I realized nobody is responsible for my anxiety.

I was responsible for seeing life through a dark coloured lens.

Here's what you have to do:

Stop blaming your anxiety on people and situations.

When something triggers your anxiety, pause.

Let those anxious thoughts run their course through you.

Don't involve. Just watch your thoughts.

Like a bystander watching a raging wild stream from the shore.

It's okay if you get lost in your thoughts.

Just catch yourself and come back to witnessing thoughts.

This whole thing takes practice.

Respond to the situation only after you become calmer and neutral.

Now the outcome of those situations will also be more positive.

This is how you truly break free from your anxiety pattern.
