I’ve changed.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it is no longer my story. As space permits, I’ll keep my earlier version below.

I’m still interested in data and analytics and everything else I mention, but I’ve changed my focus.  I’ve moved beyond the daily data work and someday you will, too.

Most of you are still navigating or planning careers, yet one day you’ll be past that and may not need LinkedIn’s main features anymore.  But while you’re in the midst of your career and life, you may want to think about what comes after you’re done.

That’s what I’ll be showing you.  Not advice columns or some personal improvement program, but a view into what you can be or do when you’re not looking for new references or polishing resumes. You may continue working for a long time, but you’ll probably stop looking for advancement.

Some may say I’m retired, but I’m as busy as ever and don’t think of it that way.  I hope you’ll find my posts entertaining.

What follows is what’s been sitting here for a few years, maybe edited down a little because of LinkedIn’s space constraints, but here’s as much as I could keep:

Even though I'm changing my headline, it's still true - I'm Someone Providing In-Database Analytic Answers with Value using any Tool that gets it done.

I know where the data comes from - my roots are in the field.
I've rung it up and put it in the bag - and then I've analyzed millions of bags to give business insights they can act on.  My latest title is Data Scientist, but my whole career has been spent finding, learning, and applying whatever tools I can to add value - to my employer OR my client.

My identified strengths from StrengthsFinder 2.0 are Learner, Input, Analytical, Intellection, and Individualization.  While I know I have additional strengths, I am quite happy with the results of the assessment.

Over my career, I have always focused on learning new things and applying that new knowledge in a practical way to add value wherever I've been working.

In any way I can, I have always sought to share my knowledge and help others develop.
