Forge has no legacy infrastructure that it needs to deliver returns against; no costly office space, external investors or banking covenants and unencumbered from legacy working practices that have to be turned on their head to adapt to new working practices.

Within Forge Technologies, I am responsible for all aspects of commercial and back office services.

I co-founded the business and successfully established the project and professional services delivery functions along with all back-office functions. This included finance, HR, IT, legal and corporate governance & compliance and vendor partnerships & accreditations.

Roc was recognised by the Financial Times as the 17th fastest growing company in Europe in 2017, and was the fastest growing IT Services business in the UK in 2016 according to the Sunday Times Tech Track.

Following a strategic review, I led a corporate finance process which resulted in a leveraged MBO and the acquisition of an IT Services business. At the time Roc had more than 200 people and run rate revenues of £25m. I subsequently exited my shareholding and Directorship as a part of this process.  The exit process was recognised by Business Magazine Thames Valley as Mid-Range Deal of the Year at the Annual Thames Valley Deals Awards 2018, held at the Madejski Stadium in Reading on the 19th April 2018 and subsequently as Tech Deal of the Year 2018 at the Thames Valley Tech Awards.

During my short period of employment at Daisy I was responsible for stabilising the Professional Services elements of the business following the acquisition of 2e2's managed services business. I also developed a repeatable process for integrating acquisitions.

Consolidated five disparate Project Services team into a single consistent directorate. Responsible for more than 150 staff across multiple disciplines and a portfolio of 500+ projects with a value in excess of £200m.
I also supported the sale of the company’s business units and assets to Daisy and O2.

Accountable for all delivery operations including management of a team of 90 technical engineers, consultants, project managers and PMO staff. My team delivered in excess of £110 million of customer solutions per annum.

Operations Director, Unified Communications Business Unit

Delivery of the company’s largest and most complex programme for a high security UK government client. Recruited and led a team of more than 60 technical and project management professionals. Successfully delivered the programme to time and budget.

Management of pre-sales technical support and post sales delivery for IT infrastructure solutions based on Microsoft and Citrix.

Social Media and Communications Co-ordinator

I currently work for a housing association as part of their home ownership team. I am responsible for the marketing campaigns of their shared ownership properties, from planning and development to execution. I work closely with an external creative agency to create bespoke marketing materials for each of our different developments. I keep all websites updated and use social media messaging. I plan and attend events and open days to promote new properties.We have recently won Most Effective Marketing Campaign at the national Affordable Home Onwership Awards.

My role consisted of two parts, Local Marketing and PR.  For local marketing I supported local, new stores and concessions stores in line with the business plans.  This consisted of a wide range of activities from booking press adverts and radio campaigns to briefing artwork for POS and helping to organise and attend events. These ranged from new store openings to midnight Launches like Rock Band Beatles at the Cavern Club in Liverpool to running a stand at the Gadget Show 2010 at the Birmingham NEC. 

I worked closely with all internal departments including operations, CRM, online and social media to develop best practices and deliver objectives. I was responsible for day to day admin for the team, looking after expenditure, and working within budgets.  Plus writing and sending store communications. 

My PR responsibilities included the day to day running of the press office.  I dealt with enquiries from the media, and investors. I had to write and distribute press releases on various topics from partnership announcements and game launches to new stores.  I would run competitions and arrange photos calls.  I was the first point of contact for our PR agency helping them with information and liaising with all departments around the business for them.

I helped to co-ordinate publicity initiatives for new stores, nationwide store promotions and more specific activities linked to publisher releases and activity, midnight launches for example.

I supported corporate and media events attending them and dealing with logistics.  I helped organise the AGM for past three years.  I hepled to produce monthly PR updates for the Board of Directors.  I was also responsible for PR admin from reading and storing press cuttings to writing purchase orders and working within the PR budget and supplying budget spending reports.

I also worked closely with the Charities Manager helping to communicate the charity partnership across the business and with all fundraising events.

PR & Local Marketing Executive

I was a Researcher and Production Assistant on a documentary series called ‘Village Voices’ for ITV Meridan. 

I was responsible for identifying potential content for the programme, researching villages and finding interesting events and people to cover in the series. I toured the villages finding good shooting locations and getting to know them geographically.

I helped to organise shooting schedules, including liaising with camera and sound operators, providing everyone on the team with detailed maps/timings and thorough directions to enable smooth running on the shooting days. On shoots I would be a runner helping out with everything from legal documentation, to recording the issue of tape stocks.  In post production I was responsible for the transcribing of the interviews and time coding cutaways.

1 in 4 women experience mental health problems in pregnancy and the 24 months after giving birth, and 1 in 10 suffer post-natal depression. Sadly, suicide is a leading cause of death for women during pregnancy and in the year after giving birth.

We’re creating a maternal wellbeing programme to empower women through education and wellbeing classes, to understand the changes they are experiencing and give them a toolkit to help build their resilience and thrive during motherhood. 

Our solution has two parts:

1.	A 28-day intensive education programme, which includes:
•	an introduction to Matrescence (the profound changes that take place within the mind & body 
        during pregnancy, and into motherhood)
•	maternal mental health
•	maternal nutrition
•	mindfulness 
•	breathwork 
•	access to a midwife for a weekly Q&A

2.	Digital holistic wellbeing classes with: 
•	with digital nature backdrops, which have been shown to help reduce stress and build resilience in 
        academic studies. 
•	varied level exercises
•	positive affirmations
•	meditations 
•	an online support community including signposts for further support when needed.

When I heard my bank, NatWest Business were looking for founders to be part of their Accelerator social media campaign, I jumped at the chance! 🤩

Little did I expect to be chosen to out of nearly 200 applicants!! 🤯

Last Thursday I joined some of the other lucky people taking part, at a film shoot in London. 📽️

I was grouped with Katie L. Johnson and Timothy Spinks, two awesome founders who made the session so much fun. ☺️
