I am Raj Sanghvi, a finance and marketing enthusiast with a strong academic background and hands-on experience in the financial sector. I hold a BBA degree and am currently pursuing a PGDM at Great Lakes Institute of Management. 

My professional journey includes internships at EquiValueSearch and Vardhan Consulting Engineers, where I conducted comprehensive equity research and financial risk analysis. I am skilled in financial modeling, risk management, and data analysis, utilizing advanced statistical tools like VaR and Monte Carlo simulations. 

Beyond my technical expertise, I have been recognized for my performance and contributions, such as being ranked in India's Top 1% LinkedIn Creators. & a State Level Football as well as a Tennikoit player. I am also an effective communicator and team player, actively engaging in content strategy and leadership roles in various extracurricular activities. This is why the Indian tax system feels unfair.

At the same income level, the salaried employee pays the highest tax, with no flexibility or room to optimise. 

Tax is deducted even before the money reaches the bank account.

This isn’t about blaming farmers or street vendors. They deserve support. But somewhere a line needs to be drawn. 

The real issue is that the formal, honest taxpayer ends up carrying a disproportionate burden.

A fair tax system should widen the base by including everyone after a certain threshold, not keep squeezing the same group.

AI is being used to exploit every single thing.

What bothers me isn’t the technology, it’s how easily systems meant to protect customers are being misused. 

When refunds become a game instead of a safeguard, the cost doesn’t stay with platforms alone.

→ Rules get tighter. Refunds get harder. Genuine complaints get doubted. Everyone ends up paying for a few bad actions.

This isn’t clever problem-solving. It’s short-term gain that creates long-term friction for millions of honest users.

Technology only amplifies intent.
If intent is wrong, the damage is collective.

Convenience should never come at the cost of dignity.

Delivery partners already battle traffic, weather, and tight timelines just to make our lives easier. 

Forcing them to stop downstairs and asking residents to “come and collect” quietly shifts the burden and strips away basic respect.

Lifts are meant for people, not hierarchy. If someone is trusted to handle your food, groceries, or medicines, they deserve the same access as anyone else in the building.

If we want convenience delivered to our doors, the least we can deliver back is respect.

Calling open seats a quota defeats the very idea of merit.

An open seat should mean exactly that, open competition, filled purely on performance. 

Once category enters the picture, the concept itself gets diluted.

Affirmative action has a role in reserved seats, and that debate is separate. But open seats exist to reward merit alone. Mixing the two blurs fairness.

→ If someone clears the general cut off, they deserve the seat. And only general category candidates should be allowed to compete for open seats.

True equality comes from equal opportunity first, and merit deciding after.

STT was introduced at a time when long-term capital gains didn’t even exist.

Today, we have all of it together.

You invest with income that’s already taxed.
You pay STT the moment you transact.

If you make a profit, you’re taxed again through LTCG or STCG.

If you make a loss, you still pay STT. That's a tax for participating in the markets.

→ That’s not simplification. That’s stacking taxes on the same money.

STT on equities is among the highest.
LTCG sits at 12.5 percent.
STCG at 20 percent.

→ At some point, this stops being about revenue and starts feeling like punishment for participation.

The next bill is coming.
And this is exactly the time for investors to raise their voice collectively.
