Women in eDiscovery (WiE) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities regarding technology in the legal industry to its members. The organization offers networking and leadership avenues, promotes personal and professional growth of women, and donates mentoring and charitable contributions to its communities. WiE incorporates a broad network of women volunteers who uplift and support each other and work together to recognize and honor each other’s achievements. WiE is comprised of professionals within the legal industry including attorneys, litigation support professionals, paralegals, legal IT staff, court reporters, consultants, recruiters and vendors.

Since its inception in 2007, Women in eDiscovery has grown globally with thousands of members and 31 chapters. The Executive Board has appointed Regional Directors that work in conjunction with each member elected Chapter Board.

Andrew has forensic investigation experience in over ten jurisdictions including the US, South Africa, Middle East and Europe.

Previously led several large sanction engagements, engaged by a legal firm for a Middle East bank implementing investigative data analytics and compliance activities to support their responses to regulators in the US, relating to trade finance sanction activity. Key activities being undertaken is the quantification of sanction transactions. Also, implementing data linking of SWIFT, email and voice. Testing the effectiveness of newly implemented controls in flagging such rogue behaviours going forward. 

EY’s Forensic Analytics ‘Markets Leader’ propositions (Financial Services, Oil and Gas and Life Sciences) across the UK network. 

2013 - Data Analytics Engagement leader -  activities to support a regulatory review into retail banking divisions of two UK banks – both reviews requiring the remediation to customers. 

2013 - Secondment to South Africa – implemented a new fraud technology framework to help stabilise the business in growth, brand and introduced measures on staff retention. 

2012  - Secondment to Belgium. Smelting company Investigation. This involved interviewing custodians, collecting and preserving data and managing the review in a secure location. Implemented a variety of value-add techniques.

2012 - Secondment to New York. Large Investigation leader - Relating to a large global financial derivatives broker collapse working between New York, Dallas and Chicago. This was the largest ever bankruptcy case in US history.

Andrew worked as a forensic analyst in KPMG’s Forensic Technology practice specialising in E-discovery/E-disclosure tools. Andrew joined the firm in 2006 and worked on a number of large scale forensic investigations ranging from price fixing, dispute resolution (including litigation and arbitration), misappropriation of funds, employee misconduct, and economic sanctions.

Andrew Pimlott is the Co-Leader of the Global Financial Crime Compliance practice within the Ankura Risk Advisory segment. He previously worked as a partner at EY and in Deloitte’s Forensic Investigations practice. Andrew brings regulatory expertise to large-scale financial services investigations, particularly in financial crime, including anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, and economic sanctions. 

He has led clients—among the largest financial institutions—through complex and high-impact regulatory and legal matters. On numerous occasions, he has represented them before U.S. courts, and regulators such as the New York Department of Financial Services (DFS), the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), as well as regulators across EMEA.

Activities include:

Leading a large sanctions investigation for a UK Financial institution under investigation by US regulators 'The Office of Foreign Assets Control'. Andrew presented the data disclosure to US regulators.  

Leading Anti Money Laundering and Economic Sanction engagements directed by the New York DFS and OFAC 

Working alongside legal teams on criminal and civil government inquiries 

Financial crime monitoring, AML testing and assurance. Financial crime MI, Data and Systems assurance

Helping clients analyse large datasets (core banking, trade finance, SWIFT, KYC, audio, email, voice) using advanced analytics and machine learning

Supporting financial institutions with issues arising from sanctions and money laundering, and facilitating relationships with US correspondent banks 

Representing financial institutions and other corporates in OFAC SDN delisting engagements

Undertaking major FCPA and UKBA engagements

Conducting internal investigations into alleged misconduct, and international investigations into alleged noncompliance by foreign agents and business partners
