My favorite TV show is Friends and if you’ve seen the show, you are probably familiar with the iconic scene where Ross is screaming “pivot.” This scene always reminds me of the time one of my first managers in my professional career asked me to review some data in Excel and create a “pivot” table. I went back to my desk and panicked because I had no clue what that meant. Thank goodness for Google! Within the next year, I became one of the SMEs for Excel within our finance department. 

Once I understood how data, formulas, and reporting worked, I applied this knowledge to make my job tasks more efficient. This quickly developed into a passion for process improvement. 

My passion for process improvement turned into a thirst for knowledge. I prioritize collaboration with my peers and have pushed myself outside of my comfort zone to ask questions when I lack understanding. Being in the wireless communications industry, I moved out of finance and into project delivery to better understand our business and customers. The experience gained during this time has been pivotal in my career (see what I did there?). It has also helped me recognize the importance of communication, training, and consistency across an organization. 

My career continues to be a learning experience and I am grateful for the opportunities that have been available to me. I enjoy connecting with folks that are new to the industry as well as those who are more tenured. I’m always happy to share my experiences and act as a mentor to my peers.

Outside of work I enjoy running and have done a half marathon in 44 states. My goal is to complete one in all 50! I also enjoy playing with my 2 dogs, reading, and playing softball.

Ive worked with construction teams all over the country, and hundreds of Construction Leaders.
The single most important thing I observed is the leaders with a people centered approach, produce the type of business results most construction professionals will only dream of.

Based on this observation I am committed to growing the number of leaders that demonstrate appreciation for everyone they come in contact with.

I want to help them smoke the competition by helping them earn preferred pricing and preferred performance from their trade contractors, retaining their talent and providing reliable delivery to their clients.

Between now and January 2026 this will look like:
- Equipping 180 - 21 = 159 construction leaders with the SQI methodology to apply towards making the work better for the men and women doing the work.

- Tripling the Emotional Bungee Jumpers Community from 20 to 60 for the purpose of helping those professionals expand their self awareness, sharpen their communication skills, and cultivate deep & meaningful connection with everyone they come in contact with. 

- Outfit 100-61 = 39 more Trade Foremen, Crew leaders, and Superintendents with the planning skills that will elevate their career and aid them in growing in the direction of their choosing

- Walk 180 - 41 = 139 professionals through the "Do the Damn Thing" Time Mastery system

“If I could just get more productive, things would calm down.”
But here’s the uncomfortable truth most construction leaders need to hear:

Productivity might be the reason you’re burning out.

Most of us never stop to ask the question that actually matters:
What am I optimizing for?

Because if you don’t know the answer, all productivity does is help you move faster in the wrong direction.

Real leadership comes from being intentional about what deserves your best time, energy, and attention; especially in a job that never slows down on its own.

I broke this down in todays hug, and it forced a hard look at how many high-performing leaders are unintentionally burning themselves out while “doing everything right.”

If productivity hasn’t delivered the freedom it promised, theres some stuff in here that might change how you look at your calendar entirely😉
