Just published a new white paper with Dr Gopi Krishna Panicker & Harshali Patel about how Social VR can shape the way people see themselves (self-perception), using survey data from 151 adult VR users.

We focus on five domains users said matter most to their sense of self: nurturance (being caring/supportive), morality (acting fairly and living by your values), sociability (comfort connecting with others), intelligence (feeling able to learn/understand), and job competence (feeling effective at work/tasks). 

We also benchmark which domains Social VR is perceived to impact most—and what that implies for community health, trust & safety, and product strategy.

A quick note on the ecosystem: Since the survey, AltspaceVR has shut down, and many communities that were active around NeosVR have moved toward Resonite. The platform landscape is shifting, but the main insights about what users value—and what experiences support those values—are still highly relevant.
