I know this because I’ve lived it.

My debut book doesn't launch for another 13 days.
But as of today, it's officially the No.1 Amazon Best Seller.

I am staring at my screen, completely lost for words. Like what the actual f*ck. We did it. Wow, that feels absolutely amazing.

I wasn't even supposed to post this today.

Yesterday, I quietly opened the Amazon link to test the backend systems and let the 113 in my Launch Squad grab their digital copies early.

I woke up this morning to find they'd completely broken the algorithm 🤯

My unreleased self-published book is currently sitting at No.1 on Amazon, outselling heavyweights like Simon Sinek and Charles Duhigg. These are authors with millions of followers and massive traditional publishing machines behind them. 

I wrote undefinable life design for those of us living beyond labels who refuse to fit in a single, linear, corporate box. To see this message resonating on this scale, before it's even been officially launched is absolutely surreal.

I didn't want to launch my book from a stage.

In fact, I couldn't think of anything worse than lecturing to an audience of strangers for an hour. That's the exact opposite of how I like to celebrate.

I bet on my own way.
And it more than paid off.

Since Wednesday, I've had 20+ guests message me to say the same thing: "The energy in the room was incredible".

That was no happy accident.
It was an intentional decision.

Here's how I designed my launch party:

1) I pre-signed the books.

I spent the weekend before signing each copy. On the title page I wrote a paragraph celebrating each person. Then, I found the part in the book that reminded me of them, wrote a note and added in a bookmark and sticker. That way each guest collected their book as soon as they entered. 

2) I removed the pedestal.

I stood alongside my guests as an equal. As they arrived, I greeted them with a hug and introduced them to others. During my speech, I shared the spotlight, inviting both my illustrator (+ running coach) C.G and my partner Jessica to speak to the creative journey they'd witnessed me go on.

3) I elevated the illustrations to art.

I decided against slides. Instead, I traded the projector for 3 wooden easels. Each had an A1 canvas of the frameworks from the book, covered in black cloth. When my time came to explain The undefinable Ascent, I revealed each illustration, as if we were at the opening night of an art gallery.

4) I made the event private.

I wanted to celebrate the big moment with my closest supporters, not preach to some strangers. I knew bringing family, friends, guides, clients and old bosses together would feel special. But, wow seeing all of them get on like a house on fire was something else entirely.

The result? 

A room full of advocates who genuinely want me to succeed. And an unforgettable evening that will forever make me smile.

Yesterday was unreal.

It was one of those days when time stops. When years of hard, quiet work suddenly starts paying you back. And when adrenaline is coursing through your veins all day long.

Waking up to hit No.1 in the Amazon charts. Followed by a flood of incredible messages and a HUGE mention in a top-tier publication (more soon 👀). 

And I got to round it all out by delivering my Golden Thread workshop for the Master's Students at LIS: The London Interdisciplinary School.

After spending all morning behind a screen watching the launch metrics, getting back face-to-face with the exact undefinables I wrote this book for felt incredibly grounding.

Watching them walk into the session feeling scattered and walk out with a clear purpose to point themselves towards was the ultimate reminder of why I do what I do.

Thank you to everyone who has shown up for me over the last 48 hours. It's been a whirlwind.

We're constantly told our twenties are for a quarter-life crisis. That we Gen Z are fragile snowflakes who should just get on with it.

But what if we're not lost? 

What if, instead, we've just outgrown the boxes that can no longer contain us? And we're standing up against a system that no longer rewards us.

As the rate of change in the working world continues to accelerate, I look across at my peers and see a resilient bunch. They've faced spiralling house prices, a global pandemic and the never-ending march of AI. Yet they still decide to show up optimistic about building a better future.

I am absolutely speechless today.

Avivah Wittenberg-Cox has written a glowing review in Forbes that perfectly captures this exact tension at the heart of my book.

In her article, "What A Gen Z Author Teaches Us About Designing For 100-Year Lives", she writes:

• We can't wait for midlife to pivot: "Waiting until midlife to learn how to pivot is inefficient in a life that may extend six or seven decades beyond early adulthood."

• The new blueprint: We need to reframe our twenties from a narrow runway into a "laboratory for skill stacking, side ventures, diversified income streams and evolving self-definition."

• We are preparing, not hiding: "Diversifying skills early, resisting over-identification with a single professional label... are not acts of avoidance. They are acts of preparation."

Seeing my philosophy recognized in Forbes and watching undefinable life design become an Amazon Best Seller before the physical book has even launched is staggering.

I chose to self-publish my book.

Here's 3 reasons you should do the same.

1) You'll make more money

I asked Sally Marnan, an industry veteran of 15 years about advances. She confirmed that a book advance isn't free money, but a loan against future royalties. Until you pay it back through sales, you don't see a penny.

On a standard deal, an author pockets roughly £1 per copy. By self-publishing via Print-On-Demand, I take home £5.19 per copy.

To make the same money, a traditional publisher has to sell 5x the volume. Are they really going to spend their limited marketing supply on me, a first time author or a proven multi-time author? My bet is the latter.

2) You'll keep your IP

Signing a traditional deal often means signing away the exclusive rights to your IP. You are effectively renting your life’s work back from a corporation.

I am playing a 10-year game. When I turn this book into a life design day or an expedition, I want to own the asset by default.

3) You'll write a better book

If I had gone down the traditional route, I would have signed a contract prohibiting me from sharing drafts publicly.

That was a deal breaker for me.

To write the most useful book possible, I knew I needed feedback from real humans who represented my ideal readers. One editor in a London high-rise wasn’t enough. So, I shared early drafts with 110 beta readers and their thousands of comments helped me iterate the 4 versions.

I chose to let the market tell me if the book was good, rather than waiting for a gatekeeper to tell me I was worthy.

In 15 days I find out if I was right.
4th March is almost here.

Izzy intro'd me to Alex exactly 2 years ago.

She said we are both pretty undefinable and reckoned we'd have a a great convo. That turned out to be an understatement.

We shared a lot: overlapping interests, entrepreneurial drive and a love for bringing people together. Alex joined the undefinable community shortly after and within a few months, it felt like he’d always been there.

Then, at the start of 2025, his life took a turn.

Alex was traveling through South America, working a job he knew wasn’t his forever thing and he asked me to coach him through what came next.

Up until that point, I'd been focused on business coaching. But with Alex, I decided to do something different. He became the first person to go through my Life Design programme.

While I was finishing the first draft of my book, Alex was the boots on the ground, testing the frameworks in real-time. We built his Purpose Acropolis, mapped his Value Streams and unearthed the specific uniqueness that makes his work feel like his.

We looked at his writing, his love for deep conversation and the fact that his best thinking happened while moving. I suggested he build something around that specific instinct.

The results since have been incredible.

He started with launching his newsletter Still Wandering last Summer, where he went from zero to over 16,000 subscribers in just a few months and ended up being featured by The Financial Times.

Then, he partnered with Dan (also a undefinable community member) to found Rumbo, an AI career coaching platform, to bring the transformation he'd experienced in our coaching to even more people.

And finally, in January we brought it all full circle.

I reminded him about an idea from one of our sessions that tied everything together so perfectly... To host walking interviews with those building in the future of work.  

We headed to Box Hill and I became his first guest. In a 2-hour walk, we hit the breeze on what it feels like to design a life around your uniqueness and the challenges of building a business that actually sustains you.

True discipline means listening to your body.

Hustle culture teaches us to ignore our signals. That if we're tired, anxious or unmotivated we should just double down on our discipline and push harder.

I used to believe this to my very core. In fact, the mantra that ruled the first half of my 20s was "No excuses, just get it done".

Now, I believe the opposite is true.

In this conversation with Wenmiao, we discussed why listening to your body is a pre-requisite for accessing your Energy Toolkit.

Emotions aren't distractions.
They're power signals telling you:

1) Who you are.
2) Where you are.
3) What is currently missing.

When my motivation dips, I don't try to force myself anymore. I stop, tune into my body and figure out what's wrong. Usually, the lack of drive is a signal that I am misaligned with something that deeply matters to me.

With this new knowledge, I can make the tweak, fix the alignment and go again from a sustainable energy source.

Just as a climber diligently cares for their boots to prevent blisters and blowouts, you must focus on building an integrated system that keeps your body conditioned for the ascent ahead.

Without it, you don't just lose your speed.
You lose your baseline holding you together.
