I didn’t switch from Walmart →  Microsoft → Amazon just to upgrade my title.

I made those switches to challenge myself, to grow faster, and to build the kind of impact I always wanted to in tech.

At Walmart, I had great ownership. 
At Microsoft, I was solving complex problems at scale. 

But during my switches, there were also rejections, self-doubt, and the realization that “working hard” isn’t enough for senior-level growth.

Here’s what I learned along the way 👇

🔹 Consistency isn’t the same as growth. Delivering projects is great, but it won’t automatically prepare you for senior interviews.

🔹 DSA alone won’t cut it. At higher levels, system-level thinking and trade-off analysis matter just as much.

🔹 Communication is a skill. Explaining architecture decisions clearly often made the difference in my interviews.

Switching between top tech giants isn’t easy, but it’s possible if you approach prep with structure and clarity, and get mentorship from the correct mentors.

Kids in our family are usually quiet when they’re together, each lost in their own screen, barely saying a word to anyone.
