I've taken two companies from just over $1M ARR to nearly $3M ARR while building the playbook, running the plays, and scaling the team. I've hired, coached, and managed BDRs, AEs and AMs. I've closed complex deals, run POCs, and consistently hit quota by focusing on what actually works: genuine relationships, strategic outreach, and a relentless commitment to the process.

Something happened yesterday that absolutely rocked me, honestly. It shook me up. 

I took my son to his last day of winter baseball camp, this kid would play baseball everyday if we could find a way. 

Near the end of camp, he comes running out. 

“Dad, dad, this guy is giving away gloves and he gave me two new gloves.”

Actually, a dad brought a whole bag of gloves, brand new, slightly broken in, a was handing them out. 

Most were incredible Japanese gloves, but my son is a catcher so he and his son made sure to bring a few of those to choose from.  

All in I bet he handed out 15 gloves. 

To people he barely knew. 

Here is the thing, I have been wanting to get a new catchers glove, but those A2000’s are not cheap. 

Well, now my son has one, and while I am trying to pick my jaw up off the floor, I have to figure out how to pay it forward. 


People are amazing. To this dad, you will always be remembered as an example of true generosity.

Every day when we are out waiting for his bus he gets asked two questions. 

What is your last name? 

What do we do? 

His answers are cemented now after years of this. 

What is your last name, son. 

His reply, “Kujacznski”

What do we do? 

His reply, “we are kind, and we work hard” 

It’s quick

It’s a rhythm for him

I’m proud that he has embodied this things 

Rituals are important. 

Do you have any with your kids? 

Also, time flies. Soak it up.

I looked like I had it all.
CEO of a large nonprofit. Solid family. Stability. Recognition.
But something was off.
From the outside, everything looked right. On the inside, I was tired. Disconnected. Like I had been sprinting so long I forgot who I was doing it for.

That moment, where things are good but not right, is where a lot of leaders quietly live.

What I learned through my own experience, and through coaching and being coached, is this:
Fulfillment doesn't come from the next milestone.
It comes from slowing down enough to hear yourself again. From doing the inner work most leaders skip. From learning to lead from who you actually are, not the version of you that's still trying to prove something.
I had to take back control of my life. I had to relearn what peace, energy, and purpose actually felt like. I had to stop performing for approval and start leading from alignment.

The shift didn't start with a better strategy. It started with coming home to myself.

This used to be my favorite time to work, guilt-free. 

The kids are in bed, I would grab my laptop and plop down on the couch. A couple of snacks, ball game on, and I would plug away till well after midnight because it felt like free time. 

My argument was that I wasn't sacrificing family time; I'd earned this space to work a bit more. 

This was me for years. 

Sneaking in work where the only one bearing the cost was me, but what I didn't see was the hidden costs. My body slowly started fighting me, then my mind, less sleep than was healthy, then health issues, but I was accomplishing things. So it was good, right? 

No

It was a bad response to stress. 

What I have learned is that this was my unregulated nervous system; the work wasn't bad, it was why I was doing it. 

I have learned a thing or three now. I still work in the evenings from time to time, but my nervous system is regulated. 

You don't have to let stress and pressure drive your life.

Self-doubt

So we always start with these two things. 

Founders and co-founders, C-level, SVP’s and VP’s, Directors, and even a few AE’s, no one is above this one. 

There is an overwhelming amount of self-doubt, imposter syndrome, lack of belief. 

That’s right, even if you act like they belong, when we dig a bit, self doubt is right there. 

Is it part of the job? 

Is it something you have to live with? 

Is it necessary to succeed at a high level?

Here is my response. 

Does it feel sustainable? 

The answer is never, yes. 

So if this is you, here is where I would start. 

Affirmations and gratitude. 

Yep. 

A daily affirmation looking at yourself in the mirror. Can it be uncomfortable, yes. Does it help, yep. 

Gratitude.  I think gratitude practice is one of the most powerful tools we can develop. It shifts everything. 

If you feel like you don’t belong or no matter how much you contribute it isn’t enough lean into these things. 

Because self love is so much more powerful than self loathing.

I am spending a lot of evenings coaching youth baseball. 

I couldn’t love it more. 

Here are two things every kid can benefit from. 

Mental framing: yes the athletic skills are important. But games are won and lost by the battles in their minds. Give them tools to handle the pressure. Give them permission to try, care, fail, and reboot. 

Accountability on body language: the body sends messages to the mind. Throw a bad pitch, slump your shoulders, I guarantee the next pitch won’t be the best. 

How do you teach this? 

Model it
Talk about it 
Create accountability around it 
Notice and encourage the right behavior 

Youth sports can lay such a foundation for these kids. 

As parents and coaches we MUST respect the opportunity.

The 3 powerful things I do each week to be the best version of myself. 



I practice gratitude a lot. Sometimes by myself, sometimes with my wife. Sometimes it’s short, often time it’s deep and full of visualizations. 

I reach out to friends and colleagues, proactively and not from a place of needing anything from them. Sometimes it starts a convo, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it creates new business. It always creates an avenue to get me out of my head. 

I walk. On the treadmill. While I’m coaching. While a kid is at practice. Movement brings clarity. 

I have tended to over complicate things in the pursuit of staying in a good place. 

These 3 things. 

Always work for me. 

They are simple, I can do them anywhere, and they always bring me home.
