On Wednesday we (🦁Tony Conte, Alan Pilkington 🍀 and Myself) hosted our first Digital Clubhouse of the year, focussed on the “Silent Killers of E-commerce” and it absolutely delivered.

We had so many great speakers including Fran Gresswell, Anil Patel, Ethan Burnett, Rowan Turnbull and our guest panelist Adam Pearce - CRO for Shopify Brands! 

We talked about everything from setting up a challenger brand, through to measuring real growth in profit and evolving a brand.

I may be biased out the panel dropped some serious nuggets, including:

Margins are under pressure and they are not letting up. Make sure you’re obsessing over the stuff that actually moves the needle! Know your numbers!

The barrier to entry has never been lower. Which makes building great product and focusing on profit more important than ever.

ROAS is dangerous. Every brand should be aligned on POAS, internally and with their agency partners. 

Relying on platform metrics alone will mislead you.

Loyalty is everything. 

Nobody is making money on the first sale. Your real business is built on everything that happens after it. Nurture your repeat customers, that is where the real value lives.

Demand honesty from your agency and your clients. If you are not getting it, find someone who will give it to you.

AI is your second brain, not a threat. Strategy, creativity, staying ahead of consumer behaviour, that is your job. Embrace AI to make that possible.
