UX Design Manager

Over 4000 people signed up for my talk on Designing for Trust in AI Agents yesterday.

As the industry continues to dig deeper on what AI agents can do, the question of whether users will actually trust them to do it seems to be top of mind for many of us product builders.

I've been experiencing this firsthand. I've tested Claude Cowork, Cora, Manus, and a handful of other agents over the past few months. They're fast. They're thorough. And I keep finding myself unable to use what they produce.

The pattern I keep landing on: we've designed agents to optimize for speed to output instead of speed to understanding. The industry celebrates execution time. Users care about whether they can actually do something with the result. Those metrics have almost nothing to do with each other.

I wrote up the core ideas from the session in this week's newsletter. It goes deeper on where the trust gap actually lives and why the usual mechanisms (transparency, guardrails, reversibility) don't solve the underlying problem.

- Promoted from Product Manager to Manager of Product Management within 3 months of getting hired.

Manager Product Management

FleetrUS

First product hire responsible for customer research, defining the product vision, evangelizing product strategy, roadmap, and OKRs for a new SaaS product launching in the US and Mexico markets. Managed the end-to-end product development lifecycle and the cross-functional team consisting of engineering, product, UX/UI, marketing, and sales. Hired the first product team consisting of a Product Manager, UX Designer, and QA Analyst. Communicated product priorities to leadership and stakeholders across the organization.

Key Achievements:

- Coached and helped our Operations Support Analyst get promoted to Operations Support Lead
- Spearheaded strategic initiatives focused on acquisition, activation, retention, and adoption that led to our 30% month-to-month growth in our customer base and kept our monthly churn rate under 5%

Acted as a full-stack web developer managing integrations like Fitbit API data and social interactions.

Key Achievements:

- Increased engagement by 28% by performing hypothesis testing during a 2-month period by creating a Facebook group of 36 users to mimic social interactions that would be implemented in our MVP.

- From a detailed business plan and GTM strategy that was foundational to building the pitch deck that got Fithubber into the University of Colorado's 2018 New Venture Challenge where we made the semi-final rounds.

- Effectively developed from conception to launch a web-based social application as a full-stack web developer tailored to incentivize users to become more active by creating an environment of accountability and managing integrations like Fitbit API data and social interactions.

Used Agile and Waterfall methodologies to manage and complete projects ahead of schedule and under budget. Managed the performance reporting of 50 institutional customer accounts with $150M+ in active assets while servicing 7 different sales teams on their reporting needs.
